A song about tragedy and death, how the world moves sadly on while so many pass away behind us. Filled with fear and remorse, CKC wrote this during a prior time of great pain, circa 2016.

Recorded in 2022 with Aleksay Calvin on bass and Pat Morales on lead guitar in Pacheco, California. Keys added by CKC on his late, Great Uncle Jimbeau Hinson's personal piano at Beaufield Ranch in Henrietta, Tennessee.

Lonely nights in a barroom

They head home together

They make it to the couch at Bruce’s place 
Lucy studies every wrinkle on his face

Few years burning down the road 
Bruce and Lucy are starting to grow old
They live together but feel alone 
Lucy never thought her house would feel like a hutch but

Bruce he sits on the porch 
Taking a break from finishing the chores 
That keep him from getting too bored 
Inside he hears Lucy start to cry
He turns in his chair and asks her why 
She goes upstairs and says nothin more 
Bruce stands, he finishes the chores 

Lucy lays on her side of the bed
Pillows wet, her eyes are red 
She wonders if she should feel guilty for wanting more 
That pretty daughter and a house on the shore 
She pinches herself so she won’t fall asleep 
When she falls asleep she starts to dream
And she dreams too much
