"This was our first ever live gig as Paranoid London. It was late 2008 at the Warehouse Project in Manchester & the resident DJ, Krysko, took a risk & booked us knowing we’d never done it before. We were booked for 2 hours & we’d only released 2 records so we had to write a whole set from scratch. We didn’t finish writing it until 5 am the morning before the gig so we didn’t have time to rehearse it even once. It’s a hybrid live & DJ set. We bought Paris Brightledge over from Chicago to do some vocals & his friend Marshall Jefferson happened to live in Manchester & got up to do some backing vocals. You can hear the crowd in parts coming through Paris’ microphone. We’re shitting our pants but somehow we pulled it off & caught the bug for doing it live. Hope you enjoy it"

"Appropriate that the graphic decorating Kojak Giant Sound’s latest release is a palm tree, because this one feels like stumbling ‘pon a tiny disco club oasis in the middle of the Sahara on a hot July day might feel like.

We’ve raved about the last Young Edits vinyl release on Foot & Mouth, and Luke Fosky’s exceptionally tasteful reworks of Kate Bush and Arthur Russell have restored a lot of my faith in the “soundcloud edit” as a viable genre. The fun continues here, where Stevie Nick’s vocals get wrapped up in some windswept drum patterns and echoing whistles, feeling faithful to the original but like a whole different beast at the same time.

B-Side is a twangy edit of The Catch’s “25 Years” that’s also worth investigating, especially when that saxaphone kicks in, damn."

"We’re massive fans of the Kojak Giant Sound releases, you know the ones, massive palm tree in the middle with a blend of pastel shades across the centre. Sometimes the edits are obvious, sometimes not so obvious. The latest being the latter featuring a track by The Catch called “25 Years”

The Catch were fairly successful in the early to mid 1980s with releases on Metronome and Stiff Records. The two man group featured Chris Whitten and Jonn Savannah who’s responsible for the incredible sax running through “25 Years” If you recognise the sound, then award yourself 10 points and a badge sporting the words “I love Squeeze”. On the flip you can find Stevie Nicks’ – “Smiling At You” which has also received the Young Edits treatment.
