Heres a little recording of a demo I sent out in 2006/7 with my band Grounded Pilgrims. I just found the disc recently - I don't think there are very many copies at all in existence. Its a song about a boy called William - pure madness. Enjoy!

I visited a gay bar recently. The only way to describe it was complete and utter lunacy.......my wife wouldn’t have approved. All that glamour and drink and drugs and seediness......it just blew me away.
As I sat there, eyeing up a young thing in a dream. I felt my thoughts disintegrating. The heat, the light, the smell of poppers driving people crazy. 

It seemed like my head was about to explode when I must have passed out.........I drifted and drifted down and down when suddenly I felt myself in front of a terrifically enormous television screen, and on it the moving images of the wonder and terror and beauty that ensues outside after closing time of a gay night club...........the report began.......BREAKING NEWS......A SEE OF QUEENS......MAD AND VIOLENT WITH A REVOLUTIONARY SPIRIT. 

(Ball game commentator voice, quite speedy)

Rolling, pissing, spewing queen, fucking, made up, dressed down queen, up and around, round and about, inside out, upside down queen, glitter glow, eyes low, wink, nod, eyebrow raise, big small, round fat, slim, tall, anorexic, druggie, alco, high functionin junkie queen.

A sea of queens.

Noise, the bar empties onto the vomit river street after some great glitter gathering of the dregs to the top. Wives and gold glitter girls rolling their conscientious reptilian cunts on the ground spluttering blue red multicoloured spew.

Big queen stands over little queen who’s rolling in his own piss staring into alley where skinny queen fucks skinny queen with screams of pain and bliss.

Mad queen smashes glass over sober queen’s head after argument on identity politics. Mad queen runs as fast as legs and heels can carry from cops with baton cocks flailing and flopping into distant corner.

Drag queen wiggles belly voluptuously drunken in disorder. Young queen, just out of closet queen is sick at the sight of it. Young queen spews in corner over mad queen. Mad queen stops, growls, fixes position then pounces. Young queen left battered and broken in own vomit.

Intellectual queen ponders on the degenerated workers state and how this relates to the gay liberation movement as a whole when he catches an image in the corner of his twitching caffeine ridden eye. Oh yes, its drag queen advancing at full pace toward him. Elephant in heels tumbles towards him. He panics and freezes to the spot. NO NO NO NO NO!!! Drag queen goes straight for the lips. Intellectual queen snaps out of his trance turns and runs, but no, he’s gone straight into mad queen.

And no ladies and gentlemen, Mad queen is not out of the picture yet. At this stage he’s hysterical, desperate, dangerous and dark. But oh here we have it. Intellectual queen stares into eyes of mad queen. Mad queen stares back. Life and love and beauty meet in the hovel of the hoar of Babylon. Romance is a not dead person.

What’s this, 4 uniformed queens migrate towards the centre of the game. Yes, they are looking for mad queen. Reported extremely unstable. Cops advance on mad queen as mad queen, unawares is eating intellectual queen. And what a feast for the eyes. I’ve never in all my days seen a tazer used like that before. An electric shock passes through mad queen’s body, through his lips and into the gob and spit of intellectual queen. A scream of anguish from both.

Drag queen lets out a cry, and a whisper ripples through the crowd. What she said is unclear yet but appears to be something like “GET THE COPS”. Drag queen picks up bloodied broken bottle and Boadicea eat your heart out, she leads the queens into battle!!!!!
