 1  God is our refuge and our strength,
         in straits a present aid;
   2  Therefore, although the earth remove,
         we will not be afraid:
  
    Though hills amidst the seas be cast;
   3     Though waters roaring make,
      And troubled be; yea, though the hills,
         by swelling seas do shake.
  
 4  A river is, whose streams do glad
         the city of our God;
      The holy place, wherein the Lord
         most high hath his abode.
  
 5  God in the midst of her doth dwell;
         nothing shall her remove:
      The Lord to her an helper will,
         and that right early, prove.

 1  Give thanks to God, call on his name;
        to men his deeds make known.
  2  Sing ye to him, sing psalms; proclaim
        his wondrous works each one.

  3  See that ye in his holy name
        to glory do accord;
     And let the heart of ev'ry one
        rejoice that seeks the Lord.

  4  The Lord Almighty, and his strength,
        with steadfast hearts seek ye:
     His bless-ed and his gracious face
        seek ye continually.

  5  Think on the works that he hath done,
        which admiration breed;
     His wonders, and the judgments all
        which from his mouth proceed;

  6  O ye that are of Abr'ham's race,
        his servant well approv'n;
     And ye that Jacob's children are,
        whom he chose for his own.

  7  Because he, and he only, is
        the mighty Lord our God;
     And his most righteous judgments are
        in all the earth abroad.

Him serve with mirth; His praise forth tell: Come ye before Him and rejoice.

Know that the Lord is God indeed; Without our aid He did us make.
We are His folk; He doth us feed, and for His sheep He doth us take.

O enter then His gates with praise; Within His courts your thanks proclaim;
With grateful hearts your voices raise to bless and magnify His name.

Because the Lord our God is good, His mercy is forever sure;
His truth at all times firmly stood and shall from age to age endure

       To thee, my help alone;
    For thou well understands
       All my complaint and moan:
    My thirsting soul desires,
       And longeth after thee,
    As thirsty ground requires
       With rain refreshed to be.

 7  Lord, let my pray'r prevail,
       To answer it make speed;
    For, lo, my sp'rit doth fail:
       Hide not thy face in need;
    Lest I be like to those
       That do in darkness sit,
    Or him that downward goes
       Into the dreadful pit.

 8  Because I trust in thee,
       O Lord, cause me to hear
    Thy loving-kindness free,
