Architectural’s original foundations were anonymous, recognising no need to reveal who was behind the alias. But the same man who took DJ booths and festivals by storm as Reeko needed a new alter ego to channel his effervescent spells of creativity. 

Diving deep into another realm, Architectural delivers powerful and intelligent sounds that amalgamate classic influences with his own modern vision of techno. It is a route that has taken the Catalonian-based Asturian creator on a very different artistic path to the one initially mapped out.

Architectural laid the foundations with five solid releases between 2010 and 2014 on his own label Architectural Records (Architectural 001-005). In 2012 Architectural released Peacetime with Semantica Records, an imprint revered for their highly critical A&R process and so the selection of Architectural proved he was on the right track; both at the hypothetical drawing table and with the first hard samples of his construction work.

Juan's next step in 2013 certified Architectural's maturity. He published The Blue Album (Reeko & Architectural) with PoleGroup, a fusion of his two projects that resulted in a spatial and futuristic sound with jazz hues and feels of a movie soundtrack.

2014 brought The Secret Chapter, a release steeped in cinematic flavour and inspired by what may happen at night in a remote forest. The mood was dark and boasted an outstanding fusion of jazz and techno.

In 2015 Architectural launched Amour with Dutch label Wolfskuil, courtesy of Darko Esser, a release of pure quality. As a record it was far more dance floor focused than the preceding release, bringing luminosity, melody and life without ever departing from the intimate moods and obsession for precision that have become a hallmark of Architectural's work.

As the project defined and matured, Juan finally revealed that himself as the force behind both Reeko and Architectural. Does this mean he's not entirely sure about what he wants to create? Does he suffer from bipolarity? Maybe, instead, he's the kind of artist that during the Renaissance would have been called a total artist, a true creator, a maestro in the widest sense of the word.

Alongside his concrete releases, Architectural’s concept has also been delivered to iconic clubs and festivals worldwide. Dancers and music lovers at Printworks, MMA, Bassiani, Tresor, Robert Johnson, Awakenings & Lev Festival have all had the opportunity to absorb his next-level creativity and vision. As the lines and framework of Architectural’s concept continue to rise and give form, the landscape of Juan’s techno vision becomes an ever more defined audio world in which to immerse the mind and soul.

Optomal recorded this 2 hour mix at his home in Denmark, inspired by the raw and rugged south coast of Western Australia. 

They've played at Rainbow Serpent Ferstival 2015 and have held a residency at Geisha, were a label representative DJ for Open Records and have supported Robag Wruhme for Lucid Dreaming Records.

Vi - resident of the Ciało club, member of SLAP collective. From 2022 AURA event host. Vi presented her selections in many important clubs and festivals in Poland and also at legendary Tresor; HÖR, Berlin as well as in Slovakia and the Czech Republic.Based on constant openness and searching in music for what most affects emotions and loss, Vi treats electronic music as the best therapy. She focuses on deep, raw techno but nevertheless not afraid playing with the stylistics and boldly calls her club sets eclectic. In selection Vi looks for stimuli that they transform spatial ballads into a fast, galloping groove.

Nach diesem Set mussten wir unbedingt ihren Sound in unsere Podcast-Serie aufnehmen. Jetzt freuen wir uns, Medha neben anderen großartigen Künstlern auf unserer Plattform zu sehen.
Wir hoffen, dass euch dieses Set genauso viel Freude bereitet wie uns.

Hier noch ein paar Informationen zu ihrer Person


Medha ist eine in Leipzig lebende Dj und organisiert selbst Veranstaltungen als Mitglied des PVC 
Kollektivs. Zudem ist sie seit 2021 Co-host der bekannten Eventreihe Aequalis im Ifz. Ihre Leidenschaft für 
technoide Musik ist geprägt von ihrer ständigen Suche nach Inspiration und neuen Tracks, die sie mit 
einer Mischung aus Intuition und Überlegung in ihren Mixen zusammenführt. Geprägt von der Berliner und 
Leipziger Kultur- und Clubszene hat sie ihre eigene Art entwickelt, ihre Leidenschaft auszudrücken. Ihr 
Sound ist geprägt von prägnanten Basslines und raueren Elementen einerseits, aber auch von tiefen und 
treibenden Rhythmen und repetitiven Sounds. In letzter Zeit hat sie unter anderem in Clubs wie im Tresor 
Berlin, Ifz Leipzig oder Siroccoclub in Madrid gespielt.

Here's a little bit more about her.


Medha is a Leipzig based Dj and promoter as a member of the PVC collective. Since the end of 2021 
she is the co-host of the well-known event series aequalis at Ifz. Her passion for technoid music is 
shaped by her constant search for inspiration and new tracks, which she brings together in her mixes with 
a mixture of intuition and thought. Influenced by the Berlin and Leipzig culture and club scene, she has 
developed her own way of expressing her passion. Her sound is characterised by concise basslines and 
rougher elements on the one hand, but also by deep and driving rhythms and repetitive sounds. 
Recently, she has played in clubs such as Tresor Berlin, Ifz Leipzig or Sirococlub Madrid.

Simply put, Alan’s fascination is a reflection of his passion for electronic music and inspiration he gets from the world around.

He is the kind of producer that certainly enjoys his studio jam sessions—this is the reason why he spends most of the time in his studio tweaking knobs on synthesizers, recording and experimenting with the aim to capture and create his exceptional sound.

In addition to spending most of the time in his studio, Alan Backdrop performs in various festivals—the latest in which he performed were Modem Festival and Parallel— and in different clubs and musical events. Fascinated by electronic music and concentrated in the realization of atmospheric musical journeys is the best way to describe Alan Backdrop.

Once people said behind the scenes “Pssst, Caleb ESC, he's the hidden talent from the Berlin underground techno scene”. Born and raised in Leipzig, he started DJing in the early 2010s developing enthusiastically his contemporary, deep and bleak intense interpretation of techno.


Since then, he got a residency at STAUB, often playing at ://about blank but also regularly spotted in clubs like IFZ, Tresor and Berghain.
