Sam Paradise originally comes from Kassel and eventually ended up in Leipzig via Tübingen, Barcelona and Valencia. After trying his hand at playing guitar and composing his own songs for a few years, he started DJing and producing music in 2018. In addition, Sam Paradise runs the two labels @thebasementdiscos and @miura_records together with his colleague Whatever Charles. Those labels released music by artists such as COEO, Kid Simius, Rick Wade, Tilman, Marc Brauner, Cody Currie and Never Dull which got played by Moodymann, Jamie XX, Disclosure, Bicep, Jamie Jones, Hot Since 82, Cinthie, Mousse T., and many more.

His sound, both in his mixes and his own tracks, lies somewhere between theBasement Discos and Miura, mostly percussion-heavy and with groovy basslines. Depending on the situation and mood, sometimes you get to hear some of the finest in Disco music with catchy melodies, funky basslines, even jazzy Deep House or, for the past year, more and more energetic Garage House with influences of NYC House sounds from the 90s.

Sam Paradise has already played at smaller, unknown festivals in his career. Due to Coronavirus, some of his planned gigs, including at Elipamanoke Leipzig, in Belgium and Días de Campo Festival near Valencia, have been canceled. Even better now that in this year he already had the opportunity to play some very nice gigs at the Recreo in Barcelona, Klaminka Festival in Berlin, Broncos in Hannover and twice at My Grooves in Leipzig. You can also visit Sam Paradise on 16.07. for the first time at Distillery Leipzig when he plays the closing there.

Another week has passed, another juicy weekend is about to start. Thanks to Sam Paradise and this beautiful mix you can sit laidback in your couch, dance in your kitchen or have a great day off at the beach nearby!

King Cool Gets Funky Mix 2020

Darklove is a counterpoint to nights left unrealised. It is a meditation on a new vibe, a deadly transference intent on bewitching you. It is a sweaty space where monochrome becomes technicolour; where nu, cerebral and cosmic morphs into a dark disco stew. At the recent Pitch Music & Arts Festival, Darklove DJs Walter Juan and Gumm took control of stage three on the opening night. Just under two hours, the duo set the pace for the remaining weekend via house, dark disco, tech and more.
