That track was so much fun to record. Was cut in a huge Anvil case that had been made into a control room inside of a music store "West LA Music" in Hollywood so we had hundreds of guitars and amplifiers to pick from. As the assistant manager I had the keys to the store. We started at closing time and didn't come out till 7 am the next morning :) We are still somewhat friends 43 years later. ; ) rest in peace, my dear friend, Matt

The spark of this track was from hearing the Sopranos theme song for the first time. Here is that session think tape result.

My friend and soon to be epic guitarist, Matt Warnick and I recorded this song in the back of the old Hollywood Guitar Center in 1978 in between customers in the ProSound room. This track was recorded on a Sound Workshop four track cassette recorder and using a Linn drum Computer that had just come into being and was going to be picked up later that afternoon by Todd Rundgren's manager. Enjoy our throwback Thursday production and arrangement that we thought was not bad for the recording medium used.
The owner of Sound Workshop Inc. "Michael Tapes" heard this demo two days before the Namm show in  Anaheim California and gave me the recorder in trade for this cassette tape to use as a demonstration during the show. I guess this would be my very first endorsement deal.

This flavorful recipe for Kung Pao Noodles can be made with chicken, shrimp, tofu or my very favorite….roasted cauliflower! A few years back, while visiting China, Brian and I took a couple wok cooking classes and got a feel for authentic Kung Pao which is the perfect balance between spicy, tangy, sweet and umami flavors. This is my own simplified version that I like to serve with noodles instead of traditional rice. Keep it vegetarian or add meat — it’s up to you.
