Spaced Out

Zingara - Spaced Out [Exclusive]

After successfully and safely producing the Roll ’N Rave Pod experience last fall, Mutiny Music Collective will return to their home at Granstville’s Utah Motorsports Campus for Singularity. Co-presented by SoEpic, The three-day pod event will run from Friday, April 30, through Sunday, May 2.

Mutiny Music Collective is teaming up with global party brand Space Yacht to host night one of the event, helmed by a special b2b set from JOYRYDE and Ghastly together as GHOST RYDR. Friday will also feature performances from Dr Fresch, Noizu, BIJOU, BlackGummy, Schade and Maddy O’Neal. Saturday and Sunday will bring bass music heavy hitters to the stage including 12th Planet, NGHTMRE, Peekaboo, Habstrkrt, WHIPPED CREAM, Dion Timmer and more. 

Pods will be designated for groups of five people, with a maximum pod occupancy of eight for an additional fee. The socially-distanced event will follow all current local and state health guidelines, including a mandate that masks must be worn at all times.

Interview with Dan Krotz co-owner of Singularity: a Socially Distanced Pod Experience

In this month's podcast edition, we sat down with Nicole Cacciavillano to discuss a range of industry issues, how she was largely credited with bringing dubstep to America, and the endless business hurdles she had to leap in founding The Black Box. Named one of CE's Industry Female Power Players back in March, Nicole agreed to talk to us to keep with our commitment to highlighting Women's Month every month. What resulted was a conversation perfectly suited for Mental Health Month.

In 2007, Cacciavillano and a group of friends in Denver, Colorado founded Sub.mission, a dubstep crew motivated by “the potential for moving people through sound, not hype.” As the CEO of the event and promotion company, now turned full-service management agency, Nicole is responsible for over a decade of iconic dubstep and bass music events, including Colorado’s longest-running electronic music weekly, Electronic Tuesdays.

The moon has come to signify the Divine Feminine across cultures. When accompanied by the imagery of the Lotus, a symbol of rebirth, these meanings come together to symbolize the concept of rebirth through the divine feminine. This is the connective metaphor that sits at the heart of the Moon Lotus project, which is the brainchild of Salt Lake City-based producer Spencer.

Weaving melodic soundscapes, ethereal bass design, and organic hip hop elements, Moon Lotus' music tells the story of coming to understand the unknown and the indecipherable. Inspired by the Divine Feminine, the producer births listeners into a universe of sacred soundscapes and tantalizing rhythms that tell of the hidden energies which surround and protect us all.

Cymek - Different [Exclusive]

Fryar is the electronic music project of Matthew Stuart Fryar. His experimental bass project aims to capture both heavy hip-hop oriented underground beats with melancholy driven melodies to showcase a contrast between distorted sound design and polished harmonies. This creative contrast works to illustrate the failings in and out of life, giving the listener a constant battle of overbearing bass lines and ethereal melodies to make you move. In a couple of words: Fryar's sound is best described as being in a state of polarity, similar to that of life.

The intention is to create a bridge for those of us feeling angry and frustrated with
the current state of the world and to point out some of the areas in our life where
many of us are neglecting our part in the solution.
What global crisis’s are we perpetuating due to our own ignorance and apathy?
What companies are we working for?
What corporations are we giving economic incentive to?
or better yet:
What global solutions are we embodying?
What new conscious enterprises are we creating?
And what new paradigm infrastructures are we investing in?
Righteous anger can be a powerful tool, it can be a catalyst that breaks the chains
of apathy.
But no matter how righteous our anger may be, if it is not used constructively it
quickly becomes toxic.
This song was birthed in inspiration to transform our righteous anger into righteous
