Untold is a new EP by Belarusian electronic artist @constant-current. All tracks on the album were recorded 10 years ago and since then have gone through numerous modifications. Music of @constant-current is melodic and atmospheric, but always based on intense technological rhythm. Album is completed with remixes by @firnwald and @optionica.

Memory Scale, whose real name is Arnaud Castagné, is a French musician living in Bordeaux, specializing in melodic and cinematographic ambient/electronic compositions.

Inspired by artists such as ambient pioneer Brian Eno, the 90s ambient scene, IDM, electronica and Krautrock, as well as the sounds of artists such as The Durutti Column, Dieter Moebius, Seefeel, Boards of  Canada or even Tortoise (among others), Memory Scale knew how to merge these varied influences to create a recognizable style.

Memory Scale tracks transport the listener into haunting soundscapes, evoking cinematic images and deep emotions.  Delicate melodies blend seamlessly with atmospheric textures, creating an immersive auditory experience.

20230725 Redeyes

For the first time in my life, I went on a trip to another country under the pretext of directing a big musical project. While I was on the trip, I visited three countries, and in each of them, I wrote one song. The recording and mixing were done on the spot. I made the cover for the release from photos on my iPhone on the plane on the way home.

A bit about the tracks: in Tbilisi (Georgia) I recorded a song using only my friend Stas' bass guitar and sounds of things that were in the same room as the guitar (where I was staying). I recorded vocals on a lapel mic that I used for interviews.

In Antalya (Turkey) I wrote everything inside the computer and recorded airport noise through headphone microphone while making the track. In Beograd (Serbia), I did everything very quickly, and there wasn't much time for music. I used various city sounds that I managed to record. For some reason, it was in Beograd that I had the idea to record something on a nylon guitar, but I couldn't find one and used whatever was available. I recorded the bass part in my friend Lisa's kitchen. It's her husband's guitar, a pretty rare bronco bass. Interestingly, I have exactly the same one at home in St. Petersburg. I had to record the bass without connection, just on a dictaphone, but I even liked it. The lyrics in the track are a voice memo from the hotel. It was just an idea about line form; I didn't think I would use this stupid text anywhere.

One of the 6 works on his new EP-album, this a dreamy yet energetic IDM tune that was composed 10 years ago and has gone through numerous transformations. The word Aponia translated from ancient Greek means 'getting rid of physical pain'.

THE GAME : 

In "Reset Rhythm" you will be facing mysterious creatures coming from the deep space-time !

Those have the frightening power to twist space and time... The fantasy world of your character starts crumbling and behaving weirdly. You'll be embarqued on a quest to find what truely happens and you'll face them. Then, you'll enventually acquire this power to fight back !

To resolve the mysteries occuring around you, fights against these odd entities involving time and space distortions will provide a refreshing gameplay !

Time to Reset Rhythm ! :D

THE MUSIC :

This one track can be seen as a teaser/trailer for the game "Reset Ryhthm". 

I used Risset rhythms (named after Jean-Claude Risset) => hence the name Reset rhythm ^^ <= in order to translate time and space distortions. You'll also hear accelerations and decelerations with the synth/beat conveying a battle/fight mood. Then there are some spaces for airy moments - which I love doing, to picture  the fantasy world of the game.

How I imagined the video trailer : ( it's a colorful and playful world overall !)

0:00 =>The opening of the song is set in space, and some kind of giant distorted portal slowly opens.

0:44 =>The build up leads to these aggressive synths, where mysterious creatures starts flowing everywhere.
It get intense as more ans more are coming while disturbing space and time around them.
The video zoom out to reveal your character alerted by those strange disturbances.

1:13 =>Then, on the switch to the slow piano part, the hero finds himself floating in space, drifting away from the giant portal seen earlier.

1:32 => As those reversed synths lines comes, he is thrown faster ans faster into a tunnel of rainbowish light until the aggresive syht comes back.

1:57 => From now on, along the accelerations/decelerations, he is panickingly trying to avoid the mysterious creatures assailling him.

2:27 => On the following piano part, he finally make it back to home. Everything is messed up, but he finds courage in his friends and somehow finds an artefact. Giving him the power to twist space and time too.

3:16 => So, when the aggressive synth are back, it's him this time ! Escalading in a space light tunnel and crushing every creature on his way.
3:36 => With the arpegiated syth, he gets to the portal and closes it ( or twist or distort ^^) thanks to the artefact.

3:46 => Finally, that last slow part shows everything gowing backwards or being fixed in a happy ending :)

On Therapy, his gripping third collection for Imprec, Alexandre Bazin creates concise melodic electro-acoustic environments with ripping timbres, deep staccato sequences and a dramatic immediacy. Elements of classical, minimal techno, modular-ambient and drone music permeate this aptly titled album, Therapy, from Alexandre Bazin.

Bazin himself describes this album as "new experimental electronic music." Melodic progression, pulse and timbre play key roles in his delicately crafted work. Saturation and feedback permeate the sonic atmosphere allowing new fragments to emerge creating new melodies and tonal colors.

Bazin's sound suggests the presence of electric guitars, orchestras and acoustic instruments which are also present on this album. All but the first two tracks of therapy include acoustic instruments carefully placed in the mix.
