D-Nox returns with a solo release - My Life EP

D-Nox needs little introduction. His extensive back catalogue details a life in dance music from soundtracking festivals, clubs and events in far-flung arenas of sound to producing anthemic hits for seminal labels like Vapour, Balance Music and Bedrock.

Bringing all that experience to bear on his latest double-header, we begin with ‘Inner Peace’, a detailed exploration of his deeper side. Opening with a jangling, percussive beat, bouncy arps, ad hoc vocals and a playful reese bass create a contemplative whole. Diving deeper into the transcendence, the track takes on a meditative quality perfect for those end-of-the-night, eyes closed, hands in the air sonic ephanies.

On the flipside, ‘Your Love’ takes on a darker persona. Heavier bass, more insistent percussion, and soaring melodics, this is squarely aimed at the pre-peak floor and utter sonic destruction.

Our next Telling Tales comes from New York-based Naveen G (Cityfox/Listed), whose epic reinterpretation of The Owl by Twelve Minds will be released on our Second Editions compilation on Friday 23 October.

For his contribution to Telling Tales, Naveen has crafted a mix that encapsulates the push and pull of a long and memorable night out. It lets you get lost in the deep and hypnotic sounds by building a solid groove, then pulls you out with a single about-face that is both unexpected and welcome. The mix culminates in some songs that you would rarely hear out, but which provide a solid closing and almost encore feel to the set end.
