Music collected in Brasil, Russia, India and China, the so called upcoming industrial economies, BRIC countries. All tracks taken from popular music collection disks that mix traditional cultural music with basically Eurodance. This is the music heard in every newly built generic shopping street, now mixed together in the BRIC-mix for your enjoyment. Best enjoyed with a starbucks coffee and a deprived sense of irony. On September 8th, 2016 Google's Deepmind created: “WaveNet: A generative model for raw audio”

In this research an experiment was done to let the new voice synthesis (trained with machine learning) talk without providing any text. Resulting in a magical babbling which made you think someone was talking in English, but not actually saying anything. Leaving your brain to continuously search for the content. Your brain tries to understand by randomly projecting content onto these texts. Which inspired me to create a generated podcast radio station to. The perfe to fall asleep to. Perfectly mimicking the moment when listening to something but dosing off, falling asleep. With music and babbling, leaving your brain free to project its own content, not distracting it with any other mundane details. Copying the format of famous podcasts like “This American Life” royalty free music is automatically paired with the voices. 
Conceptually this is juxtaposed against my “Anti Sleep radio” which shuffles Apple Garage Band's default loops into a chaotic never the same music stream to keep you on your toes. This was inspired by long drives in the US, and keeping awake using the scan function on the rental cars radio. 

During the Grey Space residency the idea of the “Threshold Consciousness Radio” (working title) is produced with the help of RNDR studio (Thank you! : )

A first test result can be heard today here in the Grey Space, while we are working to generate a 24/7 radio stream similar to the study concentration music channels on YouTube. This stream will be broadcast from the Grey Space interspersed with actual broadcasts by Studio Dull. At the end of the first test episode of “Threshold Consiousness Radio” a 12 minute version of “Anti Sleep Radio”  is played as a disturbing interlude before resuming playback on the hour.

a composition initiated by Constant Dullaart (NL 1979) based on the theme song from the Beaver Trilogy by Trent Harris, "Please don't keep me waiting" by Olivia Newton-John. The song originally appeared as the B-side to her 1979 single “deeper than the night”. The audio notation of the track was created by 'Widisoft', an early consumer software specialising in music interpretation by creating midi files from audio input. The failure to discern separate instruments and human voice in the harmony, polyphonic tracks makes for beautiful amateur approximations of the harmony. The general melody is held up, but the mistakes generate a sense of authenticity in hoomans. In this way it relates to the Beaver Trilogy, by copying the idea of imperfection in the rendition of the song. Created in 2013 the piece emphasises a romantic notion of amateurism in the time of computers imitating human behaviour. Dullaart made the piece after a pilgrimage to Beaver Utah, and Grooving Gary's final resting place.
