Den Dala’s new single “I am the Changer” slows things down immediately after the first note played. It makes you want to lay down in a field of flowers, closing your eyes and dreaming for a while. It is a cover of the band “Cotton Jones”. No surprise Andrin Stettler, the creative head of Den Dala, had to make his own version of it. His very personal touch can be heard throughout the laid-back song. Following no rules, he mixed old tape flutes with swelly guitars, lazy vocals with swooshing drums. Things came together very naturally; it was one of these recordings that just happened with ease.

Paying homage to his Zambian roots, Kvka puts a modern interpolation
on Amanaz’s classic ‘Khala My Friend’.

The self produced cover highlights KV’s intentions to traverse multiple
genres with his upcoming release schedule.

Amanaz’s original work achieved global prominence for it’s messages of resilience and the importance of friendship. Conversely, KV’s cover could be interpreted as a love song to listeners unfamiliar with the original.

KVKA was born February 14th, thus Valentines day serves a dual purpose; to reinforce the new light in which the lyrics can be interpreted, and to accentuate his Zambian heritage on his birthday.

Our cover of Body by Julia Jacklin.

From the moment I heard this song on Crushing I knew it was going to be my favourite album from 2019. The mood, lyrics and themes were just the perfect gut punch. This is our version, made in isolation. I loved the structure and didn't want to change it, so instead changed the key and tempo to give more of that "taking back what's mine" feeling. The lyrics resonated with me the most, they remain unchanged.
