Mark EG Presents 90's Techno Rave Volume II

SCORPIO-HELTER SKELTER - ENERGY 1996 (TECHNODROME)

I was asked recently by Saxon Williams 

To recreate a North radical technology, old school 90s 00s set 

Saxon runs a show on one of Australia's largest electronic music radio stations, @area3000.radio. 

North Radical was a huge part of my youth, which kickstarted and transitioned my career from an underground free party DJ to techno Club  DJ after winning the national competition held by North back then, The Dogs Bollocks. in 2001 
It has taken me a little time to do this project as I've had to remaster some ancient stuff, but here are many different styles I used to play back then from labels like Hydraulix Jerk Construct rhythm and many underground favourites. I hope you all enjoy it.

TiK ToK - Wannabe (Stay Up Forever Vinyl & Two Phased Digital)

Carl Cox is pretty much the embodiment of the 'superstar dj'.

One interesting thing about Carl Cox, and something that is often forgotten, is that back in the early 90's he was one of the biggest names in the UK hardcore rave scene, and he fucking rocked at it. In a single set you could hear anything from British breakbeat hardcore to Dutch gabber, with Scottish bouncy techno, hard American acid and European hard trance all thrown in his trademark three-deck blender. 

Since he was so awesome, and so unique in many ways, I wanted my latest mix to be a tribute to what he was doing in his rave heyday - I wanted to boil down two years worth of his musical selections into a single mix, with nice and crisp audio quality and no shitty mc's. To do so, I built a database of 25 tracklistings from 1993/1994 and pulled together a tracklisting of 45 tunes that captures all of the elements of the Carl Cox rave experience. 

I am really happy with this mix, and I hope you enjoy it too!

94 Hardcore Big (Carl) Cox [2 hours of rave mayhem, in the style of 1993/1994 Carl Cox!)

Well this track was a bit of a laugh that I made for a gig I played in the UK called 'Raver Tots'. It's a rave for kids and I thought I'd do them a version of this classic track without the ermmmm 'references'. It went down a storm - especially with the teddy bears! Haha.
