It's with great pleasure that we welcome Shun Watanabe aka Doltz (Japan) for our 35th contribution. Doltz is both an artist and a sound designer/producer. Perfectionist and putting an accent on ambient and experimental techno, his work mixes various elements, just like when using different techniques & colors with varying components & textures in his visual artworks. His unique sound evokes electricity on earth, environmental sounds as well as is taking an inspiration into animism — and overall — Doltz deeply intricates the beauty of Technology with Imagination.

A penchant for mysticism makes his DJ sets entrancing and meditative. Among his other sonic interests is a cause and effect play of tones and textures all the way from ambient to DnB with a passion for deep ambience and heady vibrations.

Subatomic, subaquatic particles bubble up to the surface while you seep into a dark blue void. Such is often the sensation one gets while listening to our next guest, Daniel[i]. His music has a distinct oceanic quality that can be as riveting as it is serene. With releases on labels such as Norite, Lowless, and his own Whispering Signals imprint, he has carved out a niche for himself among deep techno and ambient fans alike. After releasing one of his tracks on the last Unrush compilation, it was only a matter of time until we had him on for a mix. Here has prepared an hour-long live ambient set, exemplifying the true nature and depth of his sound. Find the point of coincidence between clutter and clarity. Lunatik (Alessandro Giustini) proposes a mental and emotional sound, sounds and synths are unison to broadcast something that is closer to a “feeling” rather than to an emotion. Born and raised in Rome, into a family of musicians, he began to approach the world of music through piano and violin and then to know what would become his true love: techno music. After several years of DJ sets decide to plunge headlong into the world of production. In 2015 he joined Blackwater Label publishing his first release on vinyl, “Tunnel EP” . Shortly thereafter he becomes Absolute Records associate. 

On november 2016 he debut with a 4 hours dj set at Tresor Berlin. 

DJ MAG includes his first vinyl single into the article “Releases to ear on January” alongside Mark Broom, Adam Beyer and others. Also was in top ten underground charts on djshop.de .

A sound that brings out the emotions that each one has in the soul, in a language that the soul understands, but that will never translate.

One last mix to end the year. When Svreca sent me this set, he could not have known what it would mean to me. I have spent so much time looking back lately, reliving old discussions and re-imagining moments passed, often lamenting how much was lost along the way. In just under three hours this mix communicates the flow of years. An archived recording from a special memory, it reminds me that the passage of time is beautiful even in what it fades away. Listening to it, I become lost completely, as though I am everywhere at once.

Thank you to everyone who listened this year, who sent warm messages and left comments, who supported us and kept us feeling connected. Thank you to the artists who continue to give their time and trust to the podcast and label, and keep us moving forward.
