In a world where humans no longer prosper cause of their stubbornness, intelligent autonomous machines rebuild towards a new era. 

'Age of Robots 01' born as an experiment of audio layers passing through an "8D" mixing matrix designed by Geoastra with the help of digital audio tools typically used on video games and VR. Some of the compositions were recorded live, without following a specific time signature, using cut samples from unreleased material since 2012. 

This album was elaborated with the intention to give the listener an immersive sound experience, headphones are recommended.

Fabrizio Lapiana's Attic Music label reaches release number 20 on the main series with a new EP from the boss himself: Collective Chaos features remixes from fellow Italian techno luminaries Neel & Laertes.
 
Opener 'Crystal' is deep, drawn out techno with perfectly smooth and supple drum programming that soon gets you in a state of hypnosis. Subtle synth loops rise up through the mix as things grow more urgent, and once the percussion joins you're utterly locked. The title track is a more turbulent and edgy affair that sound tracks a dystopian urban wasteland - the synths are riddled with static, the hurried drums are punchy and there is an urgency in the molten synth lines that keeps you right on the edge of your seat. 

Sound sculptor Neel runs Spazio Disponibile with collaborative partner Donato Dozzy and has an impeccable knack for sound design. Here he links with Laertes (half of Modern Heads with Dino Sabatini), a Mental Modern and Concrete Records associate who produces artful techno. Together, they remix 'Collective Chaos' into a dark and moody techno roller with glitchy textures and high speed synth lines that sweep you off your feet. 

Closing out this terrific trip is 'Koyuk', a Millsian adventure into an intergalactic techno future, with polyphonic synths rippling above a rubbery drum line that is both propulsive and pensive. 

This is high grade, perfectly distilled and meditative techno from some of Italy's finest exports.

"Murmuration" by the French artists Infans

The creation process of each track of Murmuration started from strange variating sonic materialities. Producers imagined these materialities deploying as if they were following their own rules, their own physics, distorting the space, conflicting with each other until they collapse eventually. Each track name was chosen solely for its immediate resonnance with the context of creation, with the way they experienced the emerging sounds. Nothing was ever planned or calculated.

The first track Nadir begins with a mystical tenderness that resembles swimming in the air, but soon continues with intense sound adventures. Tlön is even more exotic with its perpetual transformation of textures and elements of the track. Murmuration is like an excitement that keeps the climax as long as possible. Tlön (S.V.R.A remix)’s repetitive sounds go in one line over a large space and seems to describe unstoppable movement.
The album as a whole is a good presentation of how sounds can be transformed while interacting with each other.
