After phenomenal debut LP 'Indirect Image' on Danza Nativa just a few weeks ago, a French prodigy Olorun is back with another great release, “WHS02” EP, this time on Aachen-based imprint Whispering Signals. The release features three originals accompanied by a hypnotic remix of Aroüagues by label boss Daniel[i], our premiere for today.

Daniel[i]'s Amalgam of Aroüagues is a slow spellbinding trip that creates a mysterious atmosphere. Its distant chants, tribal percussions, and cosmic synths generate a feeling of discovering an extraterrestrial tribe in the middle of a rain forest having their ritual and communicating with their temple somewhere in distant outer space. Daniel[i]'s Amalgam is an ideal track for warm-up sets in dark basements ahead of long techno marathons.

The album showcases a powerful set of ambient/techno contributions. Through the full playtime, drum structures are interleaved by immersive and rarefied elements such as modulated noise and field recordings. The percussive elements are specifically tailored for each track, in order to match the character of the soundscapes. Systema Naturae is the first compilation of 012. It is inspired and takes the name from one of the major works of the Swedish botanist, zoologist and physician Carl Linnaeus dating back to 1735 which broadly describes the hierarchical classification of the natural world. Beirut-based System Revival Records released a phenomenal compilation named "Rust," featuring tracks by Inland, Cøre, Polygonia, and John Plaza, to name a few. The fifth compilation in their catalog aims to raise funds for humanitarian aid for refugees. Most currently, for the people of Ukraine who have been forced to flee their homes due to Russian military invasion.
Our premiere for today, "Shimmering Illusion," comes from our usual suspect, Polygonia. IO records co-founder known for her exquisite talent to make groovy Deep Techno, delivers yet another late-night trippy journey that has dance floor DNA all over it. "Shimmering Illusion" has an exceptional groove in its core, but this time it's the "sticky sound" of synths that make all the difference.

Our 12th release presents the Italian duo ALPI who perfectly showcase their talent in a solo outing “Plenilunio”. A solid 4-track EP that brings out the depth of modern techno style with a variety of percussion, rhythms and harmonies.

“Plenilunio" is the opener track charged with light and a positive and magical ritual vibe where they play with the intensity of elements and subtle details. “Natrice" captivates the listener from the beginning and continues with the same narrative but the breakbeat style changes the mood and opens the game to a new deep interpretation. The third track “Vortice" contains a solid groove intended as a tool for the minimalist DJ. In the right hands this track can be greatly appreciated. The chapter concludes with "Riflesso" without a doubt the most percussive and tribal interpretation that motivates us to dance and feel part of the ceremony.

When we created the label in 2017, our idea was to push new talents and to create an artist community following our philosophy. The six tracks here describe well the universe we want to promote, raw, mental and sci-fi techno with a big attention to details and sound design. 

The various starts with a close friend of the label Soul Tide Zone that show us another side of his project with a powerful ambient track “Oracle”. Then comes “Tembeling”, produced by one of the label manager 9beats, mixing sci-fi forest ambiance with a strong organic bassline. Third track “A.I.” is from the Lyon based DJ and composer Nicolas Rifo, fast rolling toms with a dark atmosphere will guide you on this one. The first part of the various shows that CWR is not intended to focus on one style but more on the emotion and ambiance of the tracks. 

Second part starts with the parisian based modularist dc11 and his track “Electron”. He took our attention these last months, dropping really strong and precise techno that clearly match the label. Then comes “Supo x1000” from Mersel that will easily find a place on your sets. Last artist highlight on this release is Benabou with her track “Torment”, mixing analog percussions with a strong lead.
