Let's meet our dj for episode 438, Jason In:Key:
Born and bred in Australia, Jason In:Key has been involved in the Drum & Bass scene in his hometown of Adelaide for over 20 years. Through the 2000’s under the Alias ‘Plan-B’, he was instrumental in touring international artists like Calyx, Teebee, Phace, Misanthrop, Black Sun Empire, and Australian artists such as Bad Robot, Aaron Static, Mystique & more.

After a few years hiatus from the scene, a new spark was lit, and his love for DnB was reborn. Opting for bedroom sessions and Live streams, Jason In:Key has garnered a solid following from around the globe.

In 2020 Jason In:Key teamed up with Romanian DJ/Producer ‘wHo’ & UK based DJ 'XLEA', and together they have created a music community known as ‘Studio Culture’, an outlet for like minded music artists to share their love of all musical genres. 

2021 saw Jason In:Key join forces with UK based record label Erculean Recordings as an A&R and promotions representative, striving to deliver the future sounds of Drum and Bass to the world.

The future is bright for this veteran of the music scene, as Jason In:Key continues to deliver mixes featuring up front music selections from some of the best in the business!

Meet Sara Reisinger aka Aras, an Austrian DJ who moved to Vienna in 2015 and it didn’t take her long to start mixing at home. After 3 years of practice and having found her home within deep, 
rolling, minimal and techy Drum and Bass she had her first club appearance in April 2019 and has been playing in some of the most well-known clubs in town such as Grelle Forelle, PRATERSAUNA, FLEX and Ottakringer Brauerei.
In the mean time she started helping organize the Drum and Bass events CONTRAST , took over as labelmanager for Fraktal Sound as well as social media manager for 1985 Music and has started a monthly mix series called Sunday Sessions together with Sequent besides being ¼ of the Austria female bass music collective amikal.
So with Aras showing no signs of stopping as well as exploring other genres like Dubstep/House/Techno/Garage - make sure you keep an eye on her!

Randall is a long term favourite of ours at The Blast so its an honour to have snared an exclusive promo mix from the great man. 

Randall is what they call an original Junglist, the DJs’ DJ. If you ask Andy C or Friction who inspired their mixing style, they’ll say Randall. He started DJing in the mid 80s after hearing acid house at Notting Hill Carnival and quickly fell in love with rave culture.  After making a name for himself on pirate radio and the illegal rave circuit, Randall’s career really took off with his legendary sets at AWOL and World Dance. He fast established himself as one of the elite of the emerging drum & bass scene, with an unsurpassed tune selection and an impeccable reputation behind the turntables that he has maintained to this day.  

Now over two decades since he started spinning tunes, Randall remains one of the most forward thinking musicians and DJs on the drum & bass circuit so its a huge honour for us to be able to host this mix.

Derek Makes Traxx - Rise

A jungle track crafted using some irish elements that feature throughout the track. From euphoric pads to convey atmosphere and depth to the main melody hook made from an irish harp plugin that haunts the track atmosphere further.
Sampled cuts exist in the track too, from the bodhran, a irish single drum instrument, sampled flute from the lonesome boatman, an old exceptional traditional irish song.
And sampled vocals from Sinead O'Connor.

The track plays over several jungle loops, from its opening, main and the middle of the track, it features different styles to give variety to the track that comes off well and unexpected.

I hope you enjoy it as I enjoyed producing it.
