The Chunkers sound has gone global! Stepping up for the eighth volume of Sally C’s influential imprint is Paperkraft from Japan.

The ascendent producer in a mainstay of the Osaka scene and has been on Sally’s radar in recent times thanks to a standout EP on Physical Education that had a “real driving breaky old skool” vibe she loves. Elsewhere he’s dropped the tight ‘Not C but K’ on Homage, remixes of Gearmaster on Hidden Assets and material on Mindhelmet and Tombolo.

His contribution to the BSC cannon is thrilling from the get-go. The lead ‘Play Somethin’ Nasty’ is a natural born Chunker, bursting with attitude and sass. Simultaneously colourful, yet cohesive, it mixes up playful hip house vocals with plump b-lines and plenty of rave energy, before a squelchy bass frenzy highlights the second stanza.
‘Funky Blah Blah’ is informed by ‘90s Italo and funky house and is a cute bridging track with plenty of character.

‘Drop The O.S.B.’ is a legit fire cut that’s already become a favourite of Job Jobse after it ignited DC10 this summer. It takes the old skool rave spirit of ‘Play Somethin’ Nasty’ and amplifies it to 11, resplendent with rapid- fire raps, hoovers and a mammoth key-driven riff. ‘Let it Whip’ is a slick DJ tool that channels understated hard house energy, powered by an addictive vocal loop.

Paperkraft follows BELLA, Eliza Rose, Papa Nugs and remixes Peach and CARISTA in joining the Big Saldo’s Chukers family as Sally C delights in growing the label via a carefully curated roster of artists.

The new EP “Touch Me” by Frag Maddin & ROTSCH (out November 14th, 2025 via Human Machine Wisdom) was conceived as a raw homage to the origins of Jacking House.

In late-night studio sessions, the duo dug deep into the Chicago basement spirit that first ignited the global House movement, stripping the sound back to its essentials while recharging it with modern club energy. But “Touch Me” is more than just a nod to tradition. In an era dominated by AI, algorithms, and polished productions, the track is a reminder of the power of human connection. Frag Maddin & ROTSCH deliberately went for something primal and physical, music that doesn’t just move the ears but touches the body. The collaboration itself was equally organic.

What started as an experimental jam quickly evolved into a raw club weapon, with both artists feeding off each other’s energy and capturing lightning in a bottle. That spontaneity, that shared spark, is embedded in every track. For Frag Maddin & ROTSCH, House music is more than entertainment , it’s ritual. “Touch Me” was designed as a trigger for that collective experience, a moment where strangers on the floor become a community, moving in sync. Redentor features a vibrant arrangement, with piano lines that echo the essence of Detroit jazz, while the groove weaves in guitar riffs that bring a coastal freshness and beats that drive the track’s danceable energy. Subtle and mysterious vocal cuts add a touch of sensuality as the arrangement unfolds progressively, building emotion alongside the ascent of the piano melodies. The result is a balanced blend of soulful and deep tones - a track that encapsulates the dialogue between harmonic sophistication and the warm spirit of house music.

Rules Don’t Apply drop the fourth chapter of their SPLITS series and it’s stacked with four groove-heavy weapons built for late nights and loud rooms. The concept stays true to its roots, a nod to the old Punk and Disco era when bands would pool cash to press 7-inch singles, one act per side. That same DIY spark lives on here as the label pairs some of their sharpest names on one release.

Today we lock in with FOOLiE’s track ‘Detune’, a trudging, heads-down jam that drags you straight onto the sticky warehouse floor. It’s tough, weird in all the right ways, and stomps forward with that off-kilter grit he does so well.

FOOLiE has always moved a little left of centre. He jumped through Trap, Hip Hop, and Dubstep before finding his home in House where he could lean into the strange. Sci-fi shades, bleepy textures, and mutant grooves became his thing, and that lane carried him onto Maximono’s This Ain’t Bristol back in late 2017. Since then he has fired out releases on Dirtybird, Basement Leak, Slothacid, Cuff, Strangelove, Trippy Ass Technologies, and RDA themselves. No shortcuts, just relentless graft backed up by a catalogue that gets heavier each year.

He’s become a proper Bay Area force, known for turning up in the rave as much as he turns up on the lineup, and pushing that oddball, club-ready sound at every stop from AudioSF to both coasts. ‘Detune’ fits right into that world. Slow, chunky, and dripping with tension, the track feels like it was made for a cramped room where the subs are rattling the metalwork.

SPLITS 4 also brings heat from Vic Crulich, Ben Dragon, and Landis LaPace, but today is FOOLiE’s moment.
