Gianluca Petrella continues proving to be a complete, visionary and captivating artist. His music perfectly reflects his personality: no schemes, trends nor conventions. "A magic and unusual mix of creativeness, talent, top-notch technique and soul".
“Cosmic Renaissance” is a new starting point for the Italian trombonist, his Spacebone Records, for the whole Italian jazz, for the young and open public or the radical and old one and for the current recording industry. “CR” isn’t just a vinyl but a long-term project: his first part will be release on 9th of June and it will be a second different vinyl at interval of some months.
Petrella bets on the future opening a new era. He’s convinced to be able to wake up the industry and to create a new listening, a new way to feel music.
“Cosmic Renaissance” starts from Petrella’s jazz roots and sink on R&B, Black Music and electronic music, that has a prime importance into the disc and for the leader’s last production. It’s a dense and open work at the same time, with illuminating rhythmic insights, powerful echoes and biting passages of trumpet (Mirco Rubegni) and trombone. They squeeze, penetrate and leave an indelible mark.
With them: Francesco Ponticelli on bass, Federico Scettri, drum and electronic, and Simone Padovani, on percussion. This Quintet was born from the previuos Cosmic Band but immediately became an independent band. With this disc it reach a perfect and
rare harmony, a fullness of colorful sounds and an engaging, ironic, space style.

"This is the demo version of the song Storm featuring Edan and Mr. Lif. 
In the 11th hour of making The Audience's Listening, I swapped the music out from this funky break beat to a psychedelic post punk drum machine.  At the time I was looking to reinvent myself and I saw this as the perfect opportunity to do so.  I couldn't be happier with how the final product turned out.  It's fun to go back and listen to what Edan and Lif actually recorded their verses to. This is more of a "classic" Cut Chemist production that one might recognize from the late 90s/early 2000s." -Cut Chemist
