Impulse, a track blended with elements from techno and industrial, is Dyadic’s debut release on contrast recordings. The single features driving drum patterns, massive kicks, echoing bass stabs, mechanical FX, and dark drops that resonate with the more evil parts of the mind. The pads and arpeggiated lead add dramatic effect to this sinister release.

From Dyadic, the Los Angeles-based duo: “Going in, we really wanted to make something very evil and dark. We started out by creating a 16 bar pattern and then spreading out the arrangement once we had most of the drum and bass elements. With the arrangement done, we then dove into inserting fills, atmospheres, risers, and impacts. Lastly, we put in some pads and arpeggiated leads to add harmonious tension.”

Dyadic is the duo of NY-based Colin Youngwall and LA-based Giancarlo Ferrando. While Colin grew up DJing, Giancarlo was heavy into production. Upon meeting, they unified their skills and discovered prodigious creative chemistry, all while growing a deep affection for techno. This led to the inevitable formation of Dyadic, a project expounded by its hard-hitting rhythms, deep basslines, and brooding tendencies.
