We’ve got new music from Berlin-based FRCTLS as he debuts on Shapeless Culture. We premiere ‘Zeit’ a half-stepping trip through organic sound design and UK club-driven bass grooves.

Enigmatic Berlin-based producer FRCTLS makes his Shapeless Culture debut with his new track ‘Zeit,’ the first single from his upcoming EP arriving later this year. The multidisciplinary platform is the perfect fit for FRCTLS’s artistry, as the German-based producer weaves together a flurry of influences making a unique debut on the label.

FRCTLS is an artist who embodies exploration and experimentation, crafting a unique sound that defies categorisation. Seamlessly fusing infectious UK garage grooves, glitchy/organic elements, and a brooding foundation-shaking bass line.

‘Zeit’ is the perfect introduction to FRCTLS’ signature sound. A single that sets the bar high for his upcoming releases on Shapeless Culture and introduces listeners to a half-stepping sound that takes inspiration from the rainforest, dancefloor, and streets of Berlin. This is a heavenly introduction to FRCTLS.

After various publications with Schimmer Records, W133, and zwoelfnullsieben, Timo Rinker debuts his first full album, presenting a collection of both older and more recent projects. Creating a metonymy between a Golden Hour spent in the lush and dewy mornings in the forests of Sri Lanka and the vivacious sweatiness of the final hour of a night at the club, Timo Rinker presents personal moments of bliss, wedged between night and day. Dew is the first track, easing into the album with light drums and an atmospheric sound. The album continues, becoming less atmospheric and more breaky with every track while still being less rough than the second half of the album. Building up the energy further towards the second half of the album, Rituals with its heavy rhythm and bass begins Rinker's switch to a more experimental breakbeat sound, culminating in the electronica sound of Fast Paced. Solar Radiation marks the departure from the more experimental sound into techno and is followed by Insects a bouncy track bopping along like an ant train through a nightclub. Golden Hour, the title-giving track is a joyous ode to summer while the final track Hold Me finishes the album with a melancholic expression of the fleeting nature of contentment.

The Album is available as a digital download or you can order the printed and signed artwork in A4 size and get the digital download on top. The photography for the artwork is by Freya Gerz.
