Corruption Is The Message

Through the installation Foris Intra (Latin for “outside, inside”), the outside environment is projected visually and acoustically into the interior, while movements derived from the wind are supported, which are reflected in the reflections. The live video of the outside is influenced by Foris Intra, reflected in abstract form on the surrounding walls and moved by the gust of wind. The slight and fine movement of a branch is scaled many times over. This is how the gradient is visualized from nature to city and from outer to inner spaces. The installation is acoustically accompanied by noises from the same place, in which unnatural sounds of the city, such as cars or trains, and natural sounds of nature, such as the wind, are transmitted directly into the room. Different flows such as wind, light, cars, trains and people are bundled in the installation. The physical aspect is brought into the installation by the four aluminum strips, each consisting of six equilateral triangles that reflect the movement of the tree triggered by the wind. Foris Intra makes it possible to experience the relationships and contrasts between inner and outer surroundings.

- Madiis is the oldest known name of the town that also gave the name to the river (1225). Even though most of its course is still natural, the last kilometers were domesticated, due to the heavy water capacity it can carry during the rain season, which can cause great damage flooding the city, which funnily is built on past alluvial deposits.

The main idea was to start in the middle of the river (March-April is normally quite dry so you get this sort of stony beach) using as main element the low-level water touching the river bed. From there on I proceeded by recording stones and sand, very interesting elements as they’re changing all the time due to annual floodings, morphing constantly the landscape and forming the ever-expanding delta. The final layer is cut from the exterior side of the river, the embankment, where you can find a great variety of birds (...and tourists).

Known as "King of the cut", in  1983, Flemming stumbled across Koto "Chinese Revenge", a discovery that should soon lead Flemming into a brave new world matching his own, with synths and electronics being the heart of the music. The passion became strong and shortly after the Koto discovery, brought him to his first trip to Milan, Il Discotto, Discomagic, Non-Stop, Merak etc. to investigate the Italo phenomenon in detail. The following years Flemming visited the Italian distributors 11 times which later proves to be one of the major reasons to the fact that he has one of the worlds most complete collections of Italo and Disco.

What you hear in this track are the very high pitched and ultrasonic parts of the crickets songs slowed down and brought into the audible spectrum. Originally these frequencies were mostly between 20 and 40 kHz, well beyond our normal hearing range. 
The result sounds quite unusual, a bit creepy and extraterrestrial but also very cool. It doesn't sound like crickets anymore, more like dinosaurs, I imagine... or a gang of drunk roosters... LOL
