Seattle-born Los Angeles-based producer Thomas Yount creates an organic blend of alternative funk & R&B music under the name Conyne (pronounced “co-9”). Fond childhood memories of music came from his mom playing bands like Earth Wind & Fire, Marvin Gaye and WAR, and recording cassette tapes mixes of 90s R&B and west coast hip hop from the radio. In 2001, Thomas started making home-grown electronic music with a demo of Fruity Loops. Since then he has produced a wide range of music with independent artists and composed music for film, TV, commercials and video games. Recording ambient/experimental sounds and learning synthesis have been other adventures brought into his music production. After discovering his affinity for synthesizers, his curiosity for playing with “electricity” was born. And so was Conyne.
