The brand new single “Nice Place, Bad Intentions” is the title track to @lucamusto’s full LP, which will drop in October. 

The Berlin-themed album follows two characters, Mick & Richie who are all about the party and bullshit. As they stumble through some of Berlin’s most infamous places, their expectations repeatably clash with the reality of the capital’s night life. Yet, the soundtrack underlining their journey never disappoints and brings the listener on a rhythmic trip of old and new sounds. Scratched hooks meet original lyrics and melodies, resulting in Musto’s distinctive genre-bending tunes. This becomes apparent in “Nice Place, Bad Intentions,” the first release of the album. Reminiscent of 90s/00s Hip Hop, this track takes a twist on Downtempo electro and fuses the grooves of both.

Musik. Und so kommt „Nice Place, Bad Intentions“ von Luca Musto um die
Ecke, die erste Single zu seinem gleichnamigen, ersten Studio-Album.
Die dem Berliner Großstadt- und Nachtleben gewidmete LP lässt uns
an einem Wochenende mit den beiden Charakteren Mick & Richie teilhaben. Die Hörer*innen verfolgen die Hauptdarsteller durch Eskapaden, falsche Vorstellungen und Erwartungen an eine Stadt, die immer im Groove sitzt. Diese erste Auskopplung vereint dabei Musto’s Herkunft mit seiner Leidenschaft: Hip-Hop und elektronische Musik. Eine gescratchte Hookline trifft hier auf selbst geschriebene Texte und Message, die zum Takt nicken lassen. So findet man sich schnell im Hinterzimmer der 90er-Jahre wieder - mit dem Unterschied, dass nunmehr Downtempo und Rap miteinander verschmelzen.

With the digital Bonus Remix by Matthew Styles, the tempo gets yet another push. He loses the vocals altogether, mixes in a pinch of ambient and deftly puts the focus on the hypnotic undertow of the track, holding it for a full 19 minutes.

Auch als eigentlich editgegner habe ich entschieden mal einen edit rauszubringen, will aber agnz besonders betonen, dass er nicht das wäre ohne das was das Original ohnehin mit sich bringt. Der Originalsong von Clickclickdecker ist einfach ein wunderbares Stück Musik, welches durch diesen Edit nur gewürdigt werden soll.
