Using You

Finally it’s here! After what has felt like an eternity of delays, I've just taken delivery of the debut EP on my new label Shakedown Avenue! 

The title track 'Make That Move' as some will know has been a long time coming. Originally due to be released on Mr Tophat & Art Alfie's Karlovak label a number of years ago. They unfortunately ended the label before the release could happen, so I held on to the track in the years since, always knowing I'd create my own label down the line. 

Not only is it an immensely proud moment for me to finally launch the label, it's a huge honour to be able to feature a remix of 'Make That Move' from my biggest musical inspiration Phil Weeks! 

The record also includes the tracks 'Fell In Love While Dancing' and 'Special' on the flip to complete the package, which comes in a fully printed outer, with an amazing hand drawn design depicting the funky world of Shakedown Avenue.

FFX - Would I Why

Axelle began her DJing career in the early 2000's. Back then she was one of the DV1 after Club's resident DJs in Lyon, France. Trained by Herve AK from Kompakt, she remained resident DJ for 3 years, playing vinyl records only. Axelle finally decides to move to Paris where electro/clash music is the big trend. She then, gives birth to "Les Meches Anglaises". Between the 3 of them, the band hits the city's clubs offering a mix of electric guitars DJ/riff. Feeling like she doesn't belong in this world anymore, Axelle leaves the band and moves on with her solo career...looking for a new musical world but most importantly a new playground. So she spends 5 hours a day in a clothing store in a trendy neighborhood of Paris, searching, exploring, discovering herself for 3 years. That's where she meets her team partner, creates the Fox Parisian Crew and starts organizing all of the Currywurst events at the Batofar. Axelle feels at ease and finally seems to have found herself. Guests come in numbers to DJ with her. People love her deep/dark/groovy style. Later she enrolls in a sound engineering school and graduates in 2014. "I always knew music had to be groovy. I've been through a lot of different stages, I never stopped working on myself and it showed in my music." It is like a straight line, swirling that we can listen to over and over again. Minimalist, sexy, deep and groovy. "To me, music is very sexual, like an invitation...and that is what I'm trying to show. She has just been signed on Monoclap, only vinyl. She joins Antha, Nima Gorji, Roberto Martin, Crocodile Soup, Xandru....

While Clio’s heart is in techno music, he also credits hip hop,dance & dub music as important influences to him when younger.

Since then, he has worked on his own characteristic sound based on a groovy approach of music ,aimed at the dance-floor, but "cool" enough to appreciate it at home or in the living room. 

With his first solo productions on "Metroline Limited", Clio gains some good exposure,as the "For Sure Baby" EP was really well received.

A track and an EP that went on to feature on Loco Dice's Beatport Charts and became an instant hit during the Ibiza season back in 2010.

Few months later,he caught the attention of Nic Fanciulli.

Nic instantly spotted Clio's talent and quickly signed him to his Saved records label.

2012,a brillant year where are released several productions of Clio on some top labels such as "Saved" ("Into the disco EP") , "Rawthentic" ("Your Eyes" EP), "Metroline Limited ("Do it" EP")...plus some remixes for Thomas Schumacher ("Electric Ballroom") and DJ Le Roi ("Noir Music"). 

Following the success of his releases, Clio sees his tracks licensed for "Cocoon" heroes (compilation mixed by Joris Voorn),but also on "Balance" mix series (mixed by Nic Fanciulli) ,"SonneMond Stern" compilation (mixed by Mathias Kaden),"Subliminal Compilation (mixed by Erick Morillo).

Between 2013 and 2015, Clio has quickly risen through the ranks and has most recently featured on "Drumcode" and "Truesoul" ,both run by Adam Beyer.
