@hificult: CS80 filters have  independant resonant HPF... so yeah, you can make a CS80 sound like a SEM,  but not the other way around... a HPF with resonance can boost low frequencies leaving the LFF open for bright tone

Great demo tune! The lead sound is nicely programmed. When it drops out here do you think the ostinato sound is sharp?

Have you written a review of the CODE anywhere on the web? I'd love to hear your extended opinion on it as I'm considering one & have read some of your posts about it on GS. I think you do my favourite synth demos on the net :) The Omega/CODE is quite a different synth than the A6 (ie module vs keyboard, half the polyphony, not as deep) but I'm a little torn between the two. There are some great demos of the A6 but I still lean towards the Omega for simplicity/immediacy and for the superior mono bass/lead?

A little different from the ones posted from other people. I mix in the High Pass filter halfway through, with resonance on max. Not unlike the Andromeda's 12db filter in sound in some ways

Order of filters - Moog, Arp2600, CS80, SEM LPF, SEM BPF, SEM HPF, SEM Band reject
then CS80 with it's High pass filter engaged and tweaked.

Studio Electronics Code 8 filter demo - Mini, Arp2600, CS80, SEM

A little shootout between the standard Mini 24db low pass filter and the optional Arp2600 24db low pass filter.A single oscillator sawtooth + sub-oscillator used hereThe Mini filter is a bit smooth and tame for high resonance sounds. I much prefer the Arp2600 filter, and should have come as standard for a better all round 24db low pass filter IMO

Putting the Studio Electronics Code 8 and CS80 filter through it's paces, along with testing Sonar X1 to see if it will become my preferred DAW + Sequencer
Code 8 defintely has a big sound....Sonar X1's sequencing seems pretty robust and nice as well

No compression or EQ used.

here it is - there is some delay added, just to make it less boring

Single sawtooth, legato and glide some VCO2 to filter crossmodulation, sub-oscillator, then dual sawtooth

Studio Electronics Code 8 Arp2600 filter demo

A little Studio Electronics Code 8 multimode test using 3 sounds on different midi channels, all with CS80 filters.
Trying out the freeware SEQ24 pattern sequencer, and I then played over the top of it
Straight into my Audio interface, and I added some reverb. Nothing else done
Mutlimode seemed to work well, but there are some bugs when you set the number of voices for each part... the last polyphonic part just wouldn't retain it's 6 voice seting, it kept reverting to 5 voices on the display everytime I came back to it for some reason.
But the Code 8 was using the voice, even if the display said otherwise

The Alesis Andromeda when using the 12db filter doesn't sound a whole lot different to this Code 8 CS80 filter :)
