a. Hello my name is Ioannis Nafpliotis, I am a multimedia artist based in Athens, Greece, mainly focusing on making music under this [xato] project.

q. is there a story behind the mix? how did it come together?
a. I usually make various playlists with tracks I currently listen to with specific vibes. This mix is the outcome of 3 different playlists.

q. in your opinion, what would be the ideal circumstances to enjoy your mix?
a. Early in the morning, while everyone else is sleeping and you are about to get up to prepare yourself for the day.
OR
late night on a bus.

q. describe a favorite object in your living room...
a. A white booklet that I took from a gallery during May. There's a strong emotional connection with it.

q. are you working on any projects right now (music or not music)?
a. Currently, I am working on lots of projects. From collaboration EPs and solo work, to my label's [evo-natura] upcoming release & radio schedule.
This exact moment, I am preparing 2 live sets, an ambient/drone oriented and a club one for some festivals.

a. No particular story - just sounds that capture the fall season. Ghostly whispers, wind rustling through trees, and the crunch of footsteps on crisp, fallen leaves.

q. what’s the best way to enjoy your mix?
a. Whilst walking in the woods.

a. My collection of cactus plants.

a. I'm working on a soundscape and photography project, and preparing some new releases on our Liminal series.

a. hey i'm tim, i'm based in Glasgow and co-run the label Somewhere Press

q. is there a story behind the mix? how did it come together?
a. it's more or less a set i prepared for kwia in november. the idea was to explore the framework or the bones of techno when the busier elements are stripped away. the texture, rhythm, space, cavernous sub, echoing vocals that rumble beneath the surface

q. in your opinion, what would be the ideal circumstances to enjoy your mix?
a. i listened back to it on a sunny but very frosty walk around an empty country park the other day and it felt like the right setting, textural warmth for cold winter days

q. describe a favorite object in your living room...
a. it's a pencil drawing by artist and tattooer Eliott Gamer. it depicts a fairy goblin with its companion, i think it's maybe a goat or a sheep with bunny ears in a no-face mask. it's kind of equally beautiful as unsettling, which is something i'm drawn to in music also

q. are you working on any projects right now (music or not music)?
a. we have lots happening next year with Somewhere Press that i'm really excited about, there is 1 track included here. i also started a new label, blush, that will run alongside, taking a more playful and immediate approach. the first release just came out, it's a tape version of one of my fave albums of the year by ana reme <3

a. Today it's raining in Lisbon, it feels heavy, yet strangely comfortable. The birds are calm, the dogs are dreaming while the ocean sleeps under a warm silver blanket.

q. what’s the best to way enjoy your mix?
a. While travelling from point A to point B

a. Technically 7 objects but my seven dragon balls 🙂

a. I'm working on a short film on London's parallel lives, from the point of view of a lighter.
