The first movement of a piece I'm working on based on the novel "Light Boxes" by Shane Jones!  In the book, a town of balloonists falls into perpetual February, so this movement is them remembering the summertime leading into the February.

An original composition written for Mt. Eden Monarch Mirage show choir.  

The text is an excerpt from an ancient Egyptian poem - 'The Harper's Song' - and roughly translates to:
Rejoice your heart until your heart is overwhelmed.
It's good to follow your heart; you'll be alive.
Put myrrh upon your head,
your clothes of fine linen,
be you anointed with those marvels pertaining to God.
Make an amount of your joys until your heart grows weary,
follow your heart and what is good for you.
Do your affairs on Earth following your heart's commands.
