It had been a while since we'd thrown a 2020Vision Day / Night party in London. So the pressure was on.  Would people still remember us ?  Would the notorius English weather be kind to us ?  Could we still pull it off ?  

The answer to all these questions thankfully was yes.  

It had been raining hard for a week before the party but the skies cleared and the sun came out on Sunday morning of May 25th.  A beautiful crowd of people turned up at iCan studios in Hackney Wick, East London for the day session as Kag Katumba, The Reflex and Psychemagik took control of  the decks.

This mix was recorded live from my closing set at sunset. I've always loved that transition between day and night.  As the light fades your ears take over from your eyes and people tune in more closely to the music.  

The party continued until the sun came up again with Citizen,  PBR Streetgang and Greg Wilson in the main room with the Loco Vision cubes.  

Thanks to everyone who came to share the experience and LWE for their superb production.  

Next stop is Sonar Lab as the sun comes up over Sonar Festival on June 14/15th.

Huge thanks to the Robot Heart crew for inviting me to start my week on the playa with a set on the bus. I played on Sunday night at the beginning of the week, just before Monday sunrise. There's something special about that early part of the week, a more low-key vibe as the city is being built all around us. An anticipation lingers in the air for the explosion of excitement and energy that is soon to come. I played a set that reflects that feeling - deep and smooth energy, but with a gentle insistence to keep pushing forward. Hope you enjoy it!

Super Flu live at House Of Yes - New York

In Hour 2 we hand over to Adam Freeland who has been producing music for over two decades, which included running his Marine Parade label out of Brighton, a 10 year residency at Fabric and nomination for a Grammy. Now he is part of The Acid, which includes RY X from The Howling. He told us; 
"This mix is really just an acknowledgement of my lifelong love of arpeggiators and excitement for this new wave of arpeggiated synth stuff combined with some deeper drones and desert psych influences. I’m living totally off grid way out in the Mohave desert near Joshua tree, where this mix was recorded. My studio is solar powered ( no other option out here), there’s an exhilarating feeling to know that the photons running through the circuit boards of my machines emanated from the surface the Sun just 8 mins and 20 seconds prior. Of late, I’ve been more focused on my band ‘The Acid’  and pursuing my lifelong dream of living off grid and figuring out how to build a house than DJing. Incase you missed it we ( The Acid) put out a debut album called ‘Liminal’ and more recently we scored a documentary film  ‘the bomb’  a documentary about the story of nuclear weapons. We have been touring film festivals, performing the score in a 360 immersive environment live to the film. In December we performed it live at the Nobel peace prize ceremonies in Oslo which was in incredibly inspiring and moving experience for me. Unsere Nr. 134 kommt heute von einem amerikanischen Künstler, der mich seit 3 Jahren ununterbrochen musikalisch begleitet. Ich erinnere mich noch sehr gut an seine damalige Bunring Man Aufnahme… Sie haute mich schlichtweg um. Seitdem komme ich nicht mehr um Ihn herum. 

Die Rede ist von „Atish“, einem ehrlichen und unkomplizierten Künstler, der keinen geradlinigen Weg ging. Anfangs noch Programmierer für Facebook, entschied er sich vor knapp 10 Jahren selber Musik zu mixen, wie seine unzähligen Mixe belegen. Anders als viele andere Künstler, die gerne ihre so genannte ‚peinliche‘ Anfangszeit verheimlichen möchten, sind bei Ihm tatsächlich noch alle Mixe zum Anhören verfügbar. Dass er damals wie heute seinem Sound gleich geblieben ist, spricht umso mehr für diesen sympathischen Menschen. 

Sein Coming Out hatte er 2012, als er auf dem Robot Heart art-car spielte. Seitdem ging es steil bergauf. Tokio, New York, Istanbul, Berlin,…um nur einige Stationen seines vollgepackten Kalenders zu nennen.

Aber auch in seiner Wahlstadt San Francisco treibt er weiterhin sein Unwesen. Und wie!!! Neben dem etwas anderen Clubformat mit dem Namen ‚Late night tonight!‘, einer Mischung aus Talk-Show und Club Party, gründete er auch das Label ‚Manjumasi‘. 
Und wäre dies nicht schon genug, feilt er in jeder freien Minute an kommenden Releases und Remixen. Tendenz steigend. Sowohl in Qualität, als auch in Quantität. Wir sind gespannt.

Das von Ihm eingespielte Set ist eine herrlich ‚afterhoureske‘ Reise ins Dickicht der melodischen und verträumten elektronischen Musik. Das sich Atish für dieses Set etwas ganz besonderes einfallen lassen hat ist unüberhörbar. Ich war beim ersten Hören des Sets tatsächlich komplett geflasht, hatte ich doch etwas anderes erwartet. Aber diese Überraschungsmomente, die unsere Reihe und die jeweiligen musikalischen Interpretationen immer wieder mit sich bringen, hauen mich, nein uns, immer wieder um. Darauf darf man auch ein wenig Stolz sein. Vor allem wenn man am Ende ein ganz außergewöhnliches Set erhält. So auch hier. Schnallt euch an… Ich kann mich nur wiederholen, aber es erwartet euch eine Reise durch verspielte, sehr deepe und hypnothische Felder, wie gemacht für eine tanzbare Afterhour sind. Das gabs bei uns schon lange nicht mehr….seid gespannt.

“Being asked back to Gottwood for the third time is a huge privilege as its a festival I look forward to every year…the location, the music and the people are always so amazing, and really has a vibe of its own. So when they asked me to do a mix for the podcast, I wanted to do something that was a little different to some of the mixes I have done recently. I really went through my records for this one, going back through my vinyl over the last 15 years and picking some old favourites as well as some newer stuff and a few unreleased tracks and edits from me.

Having attended every year to date and playing since year 3 their paths crossed through mutual friends, and shortly after they began playing back to back and then officially as a duo. Now they are known for being lifetime residents of London based Percolate and for their Persies label. 

Here they have completed a mix which has been a long time in the making, it is designed for the road up to Gottwood from their base in London. They are very familiar with the road up and have designed it to carry you through the emotions of the start, the gruelling motorway slogs and the final stretch.
