With the world's biggest Drum & Bass Festival approaching in July - Let It Roll Open Air 2016 - Viper Recordings are honoured to be hosting the Factory Stage for the Saturday of the three day event.

Viper artists: Smooth, InsideInfo, Mob Tactics, and Trei will all be representing the label at the festival, as well as on this special 'Viper Goes To Let It Roll' EP, featuring four brand new, previously unreleased tracks geared straight at the festival crowd.

Starting off the EP, Smooth has delivered the aptly titled 'Let It Roll'. A set-opener if there ever was one, with thunderous drums on the intro and a trademark Smooth build to a drop that will kickstart any rave, festival, or club night into high-gear. Up next, InsideInfo drops 'Up2U', a glitchy atmospheric track with InsideInfo's unmistakable sound. Mob Tactics turn up the energy again with 'Widowmaker', a head-nodding tech banger that takes no prisoners.. or spouses, as the case may be. Trei rounds off the EP with style on 'Mirage'. With a haunting cinematic intro, 'Mirage' quickly turns into a rolling banger to bring the EP to a close.

The pathways of Yggdrasil flowed across the vast expanse of the cosmos, reaching to every corner of the universe - interlinking the many realms of their overlords and anchoring Midgard to its fate. The airborne servants of Odin encircled the earth, their ever-watchful synthetic eyes cast down at the servile humans below. So simple, without knowledge of their essential place in the greater sphere – the victims of relentless experimentation as their genes were cast and engineered, their greatest warriors brutally locked with primitive force against one another, as splice after splice refined their innermost nature into a limitless purity of violence. They gave up their eyes in the quest for real vision, gave up their souls to match the black pits of their sockets, twisted and contorted in an endless orgy of bloodshed until only the strongest remained. They who were blind to their humanity, stripped of virtue, naked against the vast heavens above, enshrouded in the entrails of their enemies. In the aftermath of each assault, under the watchful eyes of their offworld shepherds, they gathered their strength again and prepared for the next INVASION.  

The DUB ELEMENTS duo return to the expansive EATBRAIN label in force, following up their 2 track pincer movement with ‘POW’ and ‘Shots Fired’ on the Mirror Universe compilation with their first full release - the INVASION EP. With a rich and heavy background in the dark arts of harder drum and bass, the five tracks within are designed with the pure intent of knocking the hell out of the rave. ‘Black Clouds’ begins with an ominous sounding intro, one which gradually pulls you into its immersive soundscape and rolls out the carpet among punching drums and rolling percussion. The tempo is suddenly switched and you’re drawn deeper into the mix, as it becomes more and more overpowering. The crescendo comes when the track explodes down its climatic drop and you’re left to be taken along for the ride. A string of digital digits ran across the face of the clock above me as my foot hovered above the gas pedal, spiraling downwards towards the zero that was my beginning. I’d done this before, but that very fact made me even more nervous as my vehicle sat alone on the racetrack. I looked back up, and saw the clock tick forwards one second. Cursing myself for losing that precious second, I rocketed forwards along the track, slamming myself into my seat with the near instantaneous acceleration. Then to my right I saw it. The hologram projection of my previous run taking the corner a half car length ahead of me, ruthlessly efficient in its angle of attack as I knew myself to be. Cursing a different past self this time, I diverged, angling for the next curve that I knew to be approaching.

Though I had lost ground to myself on the first turn, we were once again tied as we came out of the second corner. My mind spun at the speed of my wheels as I shot down the course’s straightaway, moving towards the final section of tightly wound turns that would lead myself and I to what would surely be a photo finish. I’d taken the turns perfectly the first time, could I really do so again? The stakes were too high for me not to beat myself, as I’d wagered my entry into the race series on doing so. Then I remembered what I’d thought as I looked upon those banked turns for the first time, how I had slowed ever so slightly to hit them perfectly as I considered their possible other use. Therein was my shot, the boxcar roll that could still yet win me my wager. Thus it was that I drove my pedal to the floor as I approached the first bank, flinging myself and my vehicle into the air as I launched from what I had also seen as a ramp. There in the air there was no looking back, for I’d wagered it all to win the TIME ATTACK.

EATBRAIN mainstay L 33 surges forth from the starting line with his latest EP, TIME ATTACK. Following in the wake of recent releases on the label as a part of his duo with MC Coppa, Lights Out, L 33 returns for a solo EP driven by his markedly high octane sound and the bassweight roars which its speed produces as he races to the fore for the EATBRAIN horde.
