Coskun is also prominent for his sound engineering work at Australian festivals, clubs, and warehouse parties. Cementing himself as a respected figure of the Aussie underground, not just for his music but also for his dedication to the scene.

“For this mix, I really enjoyed digging and finding tracks that spoke to me without setting too many boundaries in terms of genre. I wanted to let things flow naturally, to follow a feeling rather than a structure. There’s a strong presence of 90s cuts throughout — records that carry mind-trip energy, nostalgica, expensive and deep sounds, which felt right for this one.”

Melbourne-based, Beijing-born Moopie has been influential on his local scene as master selector and founder of pioneering record label A Colourful Storm, whose gamut includes juxtaposing genres such as minimal techno, lo-fi pop, hallucinogenic IDM, indie-rock and abstract drum ’n’ bass. Also a vector for the republishing of long-forgotten tracks, it earned respect and put his talents on the map for names like Ben UFO and Helena Hauff to see. A passionate record-digger, Moopie’s craft is intrinsically laced with emotion, striking a balance between clubfloor and bedroom floor that’s convincing enough to win fans in both camps. Far from home, his sound is causing ripples and his rise as an artist is fast in the making. Bassiani Podcast 283 is a live cut from his set at Horoom in August, a richly layered blend of rare and highly saturated rhythms by this budding and versatile polymath.
