Danish artist, Dark Matter is back again with a superb EP, the follow-up to his widely supported 'When Souls Collide' (with Erika K). 'Girl From Sacred Land' leads the charge; its distinctive vocal chops and synth plucks in the intro give no clue to what's to follow. Glorious pads in the breakdown first awaken your senses. Bright Guitar plucks follow, taking you next level before a pause. Exhale. The melody is divine, that is all you need to know. 'Flashback' is a very clean production with crisp percussion and conga from the off. Weaving melodies and ditties communicate setting the scene, but the real storytelling begins after the break. It's a thoughtful piece and the breakdown allows you to first gorge on every note of the Piano melody before feeling the rise of the synths from its ashes. This is something special. Dark Matter treats us to another interpretation of Flashback' ending this EP with an 'Atmospheric Breaks Mix'. Take your time and enjoy.

Initially composed on my Roland D-20, the original MIDI got lost as the D-20 floppy drive stopped working.
My brain hasn't failed as critically, and I've rewritten the MIDI in 2010 by playing each track on the D-20 and midi-recording it all on the PC sequencer.
I also took the chance to replace the original (and clearly fake) D-20 synth birds with a real eagle sample, courtesy by Freesound:
