This original song (original... by a copycat??) is inspired by and dedicated to the one and only Jenerator, @starshipjenerprise

It all started with a rhyming comment I once made on a song of hers; then it became musical; then it grew into a full song (predictably, given the inspiring muse, just guitar and voice! :) ) of which that comment is the last chorus.

Now, since I haven't yet been satisfied with the guitar lines I could record so far and I haven't deemed them worth appearing on this tribute, here's a special version winking at Bobby McFerrin and the Italian band Neri Per Caso, I hope you enjoy it! Feedback welcome as always :)

Dear friends, here's a return to my purely electronic/instrumental origins, with a quite daring experiment.&#13;

Sara Brito @alock-4 has been so kind, sharing with us all the stems of her recent track Deconstructed Euphoria inviting us to freely stray even into the unexpected.&#13;
This was enough to put me in crazy scientist mode and mistreat some of those stems... Soon I was floating in the celestial atmosphere of a synth pad, while haunted by voices from the deepest abyss, and enchanted by siren-like creatures...&#13;
Different aspects of a whole universe were being expressed by Sara, and that led to the title, as "the universe in you".&#13;

Dear friends, I have written songs dedicated to others before, but this is the first time that a song is written for me and "from" me; from our conversations, Jaime J Ross ( @jaime0223 ) was able to read all of this inside me and write it so that I couldn't have said it better.

Fivos Valachis ( @fivosvalachis ) then surprised me once more, actually twice, first with his wonderful music I had already listened to for his Charity Collab Project - Color Your Life, Orange ( soundcloud.com/fivosvalachis/sets/donation-collaboration-color ) and then because I didn't know it was the music he composed on Jaime's lyrics.

It's a one minute gem with a great atmosphere, well standing by itself, but Gyula's invite was too kind to turn it down. :)
A simple beat and a few BeatZille VSTi sounds after(Linux native!! Kudos to u-he !!) I sent Gyula a draft; he liked it so much that he further added conch shell, scacciapensieri type Baylal G, overtone flute, and more voice, with lyrics:

When I first started out making music it seemed that everything I attempted sounded like Depeche Mode and I tried my best to escape this by testing out other genres. Every now and then though its fun to bounce back and make something that is authentic to the sound they created. Knowing that our copyc4t (Paolo D'Emilio) got a craze for them as well, it was a natural choice to ask if he would be up for the task to make an original for a change. Not sure how he managed with it but he took the lyrics I wrote and tweaked them to create a really nice fit.
So here it is "Poisoned Words", a song about lost love and big regrets...hope ya feel it :).

Speed Limit

Dear friends and listeners,
here's a collaboration that Alphio ( @alpha-roots ) kindly offered to me; as usual, I lazily took the easy part, just singing and mixing, while Alphio wrote the whole song and lyrics and gave me the whole instrumental.

You may have noticed that I've never tried to publish anything in time for some occasion, and in fact it's a little late for Xmas...
But if you want you can consider this our gift for this year's end, with our best wishes for a bright and serene new year, in the face of anything you may be facing. :)

Our Little Planet - Alpha Roots & copyc4t

A relaxing, meditative minimalist experiment, with sounds coming from a Roland D-20 and a Yamaha TG100.
After buying the TG100 in the 90's, I wanted to hear how well its sounds would mix with the ones from the D-20; inspired at the time by Claudio Simonetti and the Goblin's music, Far East is the result.

Far East

Initially composed on my Roland D-20, the original MIDI got lost as the D-20 floppy drive stopped working.
My brain hasn't failed as critically, and I've rewritten the MIDI in 2010 by playing each track on the D-20 and midi-recording it all on the PC sequencer.
I also took the chance to replace the original (and clearly fake) D-20 synth birds with a real eagle sample, courtesy by Freesound:

High Flight

Some say that if you point your spaceship to a black hole and go full afterburner, you end up approaching the event horizon; but a simpler, earthly reality is that cats are lazy and like to stretch.

Event Horizon

Shaking the dust off a song originally written around 1990, I had recently recorded a very basic draft.
When .~ReD~. (now @rachel-gaskin-whitrod) listened to it, she proposed to turn it into a duet; quickly after getting the stems, she managed to turn that simple song into this much warmer and more colouReD version; a little post production touch and here we are :)

...I still think she deserves a real singer instead of me as a partner in this, but don't tell her ;)
