The Producer and DJ from Barcelona Cora Novoa is releasing ACT III: “This is not about you and me. This is about us”, the third part of “Mental Diary”, her most intimate and conceptual album to date, whose first preview is “No Faith, No Fear”, a futuristic track where the vaporous vocals and the forceful synthesizer melody create an enveloping atmosphere that guides the listener to a dreamlike universe.

After exploring self-improvement and the sense of loss in the previous acts, in this third chapter the artist delves into the complexities of human existence in the digital age, reflecting on issues such as artificial intelligence, sustainability and the search for a sense of community in an increasingly fragmented world.

The Producer and DJ from Barcelona Cora Novoa is releasing “ACT III: This is not about you and me. This is about us”, the third part of “Mental Diary”, her most avant-garde and conceptual album to date.

After exploring self-improvement and the sense of loss in the previous acts, in this third chapter the artist delves into the complexities of human existence in the digital age, reflecting on issues such as artificial intelligence, sustainability and the search for a sense of community in an increasingly fragmented world.

Released on her label SEEKING THE VELVET, “ACT III. This is not about you and me. This is about us” is a compendium of nine tracks that build a dark and mysterious sonic atmosphere, using modular synthesizers and analog recordings to reflect the complexity and uncertainty of our time. It works as a conclusion to Mental Diary, which beyond a traditional musical release is presented as a 360º project that combines music, visual art and design. Like each act of the trilogy, this album has been conceived as a work of art in itself, with a coherent narrative and a distinctive visual language. However, this latest installment is distinguished from the previous ones by its full-length format, unlike the previous releases.

“ACT III. This is not about you and me. This is about us” will be available on all platforms on December 5th and will feature three advance singles and two music videos. On that date, six previously unreleased tracks will be released. The release will be accompanied by a limited edition cassette, an exclusive print and the digital format of the album, as well as a capsule collection of clothing under the SEEKING THE VELVET umbrella, with every detail taken care of to immerse the listener in a unique sonic and visual universe.

Three albums and ten EPs into her career, DJ and producer Cora Novoa is one of the most established electronic artists in Spain. She followed an album/EP sojourn on Natura Sonoris (Henry Saiz’s label) and Hivern Discs (John Talabot’s label) prior to setting up her own company, Seeking The Velvet, designed to seek out Barcelona’s new vibrant, creative talent. She became the first woman to collect the Best DJ award at 2017’s Vicious Music Awards in Spain. She also creates live immersive audio-visual performances in riveting fashion.
 
Ushered in by Vitalic, Cora Novoa is releasing a first EP on his label Citizen Records. The EP, featuring the tracks ‘’The Hive’’ and ‘’Hey,’’ is an electro/techno effort of maximum intensity. Both tracks build on harsh rhythmic patterns, high energy, overpowering dark grooves, and are ready to be effective for dancefloors. ‘’The Hive’’ follows a sensational metronomic beat pattern and plays on breaks to ever increase the pressure. The seven-minute track is as dense as gripping. ‘’Hey’’ revolves around short slogans that are repeated throughout. The brief vocals lay over a strong beat together with industrial and metallic sounds.
