'The tenth release see's label and Anjunadeep artist Westseven deliver his first of the year on the label alongside fellow British singer-songwriter, Angus Powell. The pair locked horns in the studio in West London at the end of the summer to create this nostalgic number.

The Club Edit see's a dreamy percussive driven energy, punchy undertones and rich chords spill over Angus' picturesque top line. The Original Edit intensifies the mood with more pace, luscious pianos, utopian synths and the incredibly insatiable vocal.'

Gale Talk aka Hector Bermejo returns to Monog Records with the fantastic Defiance EP. This one follows his debut with us a couple of years ago, a remix for HedUbble’s Dreams. With a passion for the exotic sounds he began making his first musical productions at the age of sixteen, these productions were hip hop, house, and techno, among others. His musical influences range from San Diego ́s Soul Music to the bizarre sounds of the classic Warp label. Hector has taken his love for all kind of styles to develop a very personal musical concept. In his role as producer he has worked for labels like Blackplace, Esperanza Records, Ipologica, Phase Insane, or Pong Music. He also works on a project called Ausdrücke with his friend and collaborator Galman. As a DJ he has played in many venues across the globe from Israel to Uruguay, always leaving a pleasant memory among clubbers. We're very happy to have him back at Monog.

The Original Mix of Defiance shakes up the dancefloor with a spritely vibe. Chunky beats and shuffling percussions add rhythms as melodic chords cascade. Rippling, arpeggio basses fade up, creating a rich tapestry, enhancing the groove with depth and feeling. A real classic vibe seeps out of the track, drawing us deeper into the sound. Vibrant and upfront, this one is not to be missed.

Aman Anand debuts here with a solid remix of Defiance. Spending his time between India and Singapore, Aman’s productions blur the line between electronica, progressive house and deep techno, blending these different sounds together in his own, unique way. His tracks have seen support from celebrated artists such as Hernan Cattaneo, Guy J, Secret Cinema and more. The self-taught mechanics of dance music for this young musician has started to translate itself into releases on reputable international imprints such as Sudbeat, Balkan Connection, Juicebox Music and Mango Alley to name a few and he has been billed in many clubs around India and Singapore. On the remix here, Aman takes the groove deeper, churning out a smooth slow burner for the late-night sessions. Driven by solid beats and crispy hats on top of a bed of strong percussions, the interpretation draws on the original elements in a subtle way while keeping the body moving. Pulsating basses and stabbing chords are complimented by wistful pads, creating a contrasting vibe. Top-notch stuff and a must have.

The Brightest Side rounds up the EP, striking a plush, sonic driven groove. Rich and atmospheric, the vibe moulds around an arpeggiated framework of cascading synth plucks. The musical elements widen as filters open up while a strong, warm bass shores up the low end. A construction of lively percussions lets the rhythm loose on this classic sounding mover that does not disappoint

A prolific 2020 saw Antrim collaborate with fellow progressive music stars Interaxxis and Alex O'Rion, for releases on Cid Inc's Replug Records and Roger Martinez's Higher States, along with a solo outing for Guy Mantzur's Plattenbank Records and his chart topping Or Two Strangers vehicle 'Black Night'. Now starting the new year in style, Antrim returns to Clubsonica with 'Hoffnung', alongside remixes from Shai T and Rauschhaus.

Although best known for his progressive minded productions, Antrim often finds himself in the creative space between organic and progressive house. Such is the case with 'Hoffnung' which plays out over seven enchanting minutes. A narrative of warm swells and choir-like pads layer voluptuous bass lines and organic drums. Acting as a thematic core, the centrepiece showcases fluttery synth concepts; charming in design while moving fluidly across a radiant underbelly, as wispy effects and a rush of drums smoothly segues into a heavenly finale.

The first interpretation of 'Hoffnung' is provided by Shai T who makes his label debut. The Israeli artist has been riding a wave of success through the landscape of organic house. From his Tel Aviv studio, Shai's exquisite musical creations have found a home on the genre's most esteemed imprints, such as All Day I Dream, Anjunadeep, Do Not Sit On The Furniture, Lost Miracle and TRYBESof. Now as a regular in the Organic House Beatport Top 10, Shai makes his much anticipated Clubsonica debut with a gorgeous take on 'Hoffnung'. Always a creative remixer, the Israeli artist expands on the emotive qualities of the original with a truly breathtaking production. Full, warm and undeniably organic; it's buoyant low end, airy vocal phrasing and exotic percussion work in perfect sonic unison. 'Proton Music regulars and a thoroughly talented duo, LADS consistently astonish with their unique song-making and production abilities. June 2020's "Stoyote" was no exception and it is therefore a pleasure to see a return to the EP via a pair of stunning remixes from US and Greek artists.

Simos Tagias is an artist with a long and growing history with Proton Music. Able to point to well over a triple century of production credits, the Greek artist's work for Mango Alley, Replug and Hernan Cattaneo's Sudbeat, sees an artist at the summit of the progressive house scene with a distinctive and mature sound. As such, Proton has been a regular home for Simos Tagias with a pair of original EPs that began with 2017's twin-track "Airlock" and continued with 2018's "Audacity". Furthermore, a host of remixes for the likes of Soulwerk, Tim Penner and, most recently, Dimuth K's "Beams Aglow" in March 2020, have impressed. Now, taking on the title track, the Simos Tagias remix of "Stoyote" is a typically dynamic affair that bristles with percussive flair via machine-gun fire hi-hats and seismic kick. Building in rhythmic layers, melodic elements from the original float across the eight-minute piece in familiar refrains as an array of additional production material and reverb-coated effects pan across the stereo spectrum with ease. An effortless rolling groove adds to the sonic collage in club-friendly splendour via a remix that is testament to Simos Tagias' skill and craft.'

The German producer has been a highly regarded figure of the melodic house underground for the last two years, having showcased his music on Beatfreak Recordings, Eleatics Records, Einmusika, Timeless Moment and Stil Vor Talent. Now making a welcome debut on Clubsonica, Rauschhaus rounds out the release with a powerful rendition of ‘Hoffnung’. The groove gets reworked into something a bit chunkier while a complement of tranquil arps, misty atmospheres and detailed percussion fill in the framework. Musically less pronounced, the German artist opts for a sleeker yet equally powerful approach, building tension subtly across the final break though luminous sonics and timely modulation, before smoothly segueing into an uplifting finale. Groovy and emotive in equal measure it not only makes for an auspicious label debut for Rauschhaus, but caps off a stunning first release of the year for Clubsonica.'

Kicking off 2021 by continuing to support up and coming talents in the modern underground dance arena, Meanwhile begins the year with a twin-track offering from gifted Ukrainian artist, Nōpi, and his sublime "Spoon Light" EP. One of the brightest stars in the underground house cosmos over the past eighteen months, Nōpi has continued to excel with a raft of original and remix material throughout 2020. An array of leading imprints has thus queued up to feature the Ukrainian's work with Cid Inc.'s Replug, the ever-reliable, Anjunadeep and Jacob Henry's Silk Music all releasing original music in the last months of the year; the latter with the mesmerising seven-track "Bila" EP that has seen Nōpi reach a fitting high point at year's end. Now debuting on Meanwhile, the title track is a scintillating tour de force that bristles with trademark emotion and glorious melodic brio. Driven purposefully forward with rich, sustained bassline and delicate percussive flair, shimmering pads and muted arpeggio pan the stereo spectrum with ease as ethereal vocal cuts whisper barely heard phrases, rich in reverb and delay. Building in intensity via a glorious breakdown, "Spoon Light" picks up the pace again in the third movement to create a rarely heard emotive intensity as dizzying gated synths add further aural colour. Partner track, "Creative Sheet" continues the intelligent melodic narrative of its predecessor as an intricate percussive top-line and immaculately syncopated bass groove provide a wonderfully worked rhythmic framework. Evolving seamlessly into the second movement, an expertly woven sonic tapestry reveals itself via panned effects, pulsating white-noise washes and potent synth phrasing. The result is a magnificent illustration of Nōpi's talent and ability to match groove and melody with poise and purpose.
