"My Little Valentine" was the first song I wrote my freshman year of college. It clings to love from that 18-year-old perspective, specifically noted in the third verse when he thinks he's found "that special someone" and doesn't want to let her go. The lyrics to the chorus came to me while driving, so I stopped to write them down on the back of a notecard and the rest came to me later that same day:
