traverse is proud to announce the release of its first record - a compilation of six tracks from various artists, inspired by Pembroke King’s poem moving silhouettes, written for this occasion.

As the fourth volume of the compilation series “traversée”, moving silhouettes encourages artists to explore all corners of listening music and creative avenues that aren’t tied to any one convention.

Pembroke King’s poem sheds light on the mood of the compilation, and even though each artist brings its own interpretation of it, there is a beautiful harmony of it all - from Kate Miller’s atmospheric sounds to Teqmun’s drums-made-of-rain-drop-recordings or Ghjuliú’s nostalgic melodies, the listener travels around Pembroke’s words with each track.

As our first physical release, we feel honoured to collaborate with artists who have been involved in a way or another on traverse before such as Officium, Mika Oki and Alohn, but Kate Miller, Teqmun, and Ghjuliú, that we’ve been keeping close to our heart for a long time already.

Fenced Fringes

Premiere: Kate Miller - Fenced Fringes | traverse

SORN is excited to present the debut 12" EP from d. towärds, Rephlex EP, a bold and captivating exploration of sound. Spanning tracks crafted between 2021 and 2024, the EP offers a unique blend of minimalist, dub-inflected textures, creating unpredictable sonic landscapes that constantly evolve.
The tracks are stripped down, often reduced to mere echoes and ghostly pulses, yet there's a tactile weight to the production that pulls the listener in. This is dub in its most abstract form: a deconstruction that shifts the focus from rhythm to texture, from structure to atmosphere. The result is a work that feels both timeless and dislocated.
With nods to the experimental rigor of Pan Sonic and the icy precision of Raster-Noton, Rephlex EP is less an homage and more an interrogation.

this episode of Burrow of music is brought to you by @lyc0psid a Leipzig based producer whose music is a fusion of eco-ambient, deconstructed field recordings, and dubbed-out, water-damaged rhythms. his debut EP under this name ‘chlorine, serenity’ was released last year on the surf netlabel @official_wesurf.
‘This mix is a collage of current favourites, late night soundcloud rabbit-holes, and maybe a small peek at some new material I’m working on at the moment. more or less just where my head’s at right now, but in musical terms. enjoy!‘

Post Ambient Lux by @igordyachenko

Pre-order digital & special edition 12" lathe cuts: https://appendixfiles.bandcamp.com/album/appx-lp01-post-ambient-lux

Tracklist:
01 – Melted Reality (4:17)
02 – Spectral Tracing (feat. Corell) (3:55)
03 – Emitting (4:34)
04 – Receiver (feat. mu tate) (2:40)
05 – Deviate (4:09)
06 – Sensors (3:52)
07 – Soft Liminal (3:07)
08 – Involved (feat. Nick Malkin) (3:45)
09 – Submerge (4:04)
10 – Sign (4:08)

A LP from experimental sound artist Igor Dyachenko. Featuring contributions from Corell, mu tate, and Nick Malkin the album is a masterclass in textural precision and sonic exploration. With artwork by Yaro Svyatykh and design by Amos Turner, Post Ambient Lux unfolds as one of the most appendix.files-coded releases to date—a record equally concerned with process, perception, and the emotional charge of deep listening.

The album finds focus in its opening track, Melted Reality—a trickling digital stream that gives way to a tidal swell of noise. It's followed by Spectral Tracing, featuring Corell, where this momentum disintegrates and reforms—sonic matter in flux, with molecular fragments melting, colliding, and dissolving again. On Emitting, shimmering vistas seem to generate in real time, like catching up to the edge of the universe and witnessing the raw formation of particles, dust, and energy—enormous and infinitesimal at once. Tangible references dissolve in an instant a million years long. This is an album for the deep thinker and deep listener—as much philosophical as it is sonic. If science fiction were rewritten with the restraint of contemporary minimalism, and stitched into a Craig Green silhouette, this is what it would sound like. On Deviate, the machinery of this imagined space clicks into motion—a dimensional garment assembled in precise layers, operating in intricate order to maintain equilibrium in a liminal zone.

Flipping the disc, we first hear Sensors—where rhythmic consistency hints at orientation, and a sense of direction begins to emerge. Though distractions abound, the path remains porous. Enter Soft Liminal—a moment of surrender where you begin to trust the chaos, and even find nourishment in it. That state of perpetual near-emergence begins to feel less like tension, more like clarity. Involved, featuring Nick Malkin, introduces a familiar tone breaking through the fog—an anchor within the blur—offering reality not as imposition, but as option. Then comes Submerge, inviting a full descent into liquid data, vast fields of signal moving through the nervous system. The closing piece, Sign, gathers these moments with a sense of quiet coherence. This is the wisdom of ambience—a kind of Tao for experimental sound—philosophy rendered as aesthetic, as method, as both catalyst and control.

You probably think you did. You're probably bristling with confidence regarding that. You're probably chuffed and hopped up and saying it with your chest, your fullness, the totality of your being. You're so sure of it. And rightly so: you've listened to XENIA REAPER's 'zumi3', the title track on 'zumi3' premiered by Madjestic Kasual, 'zumi3' being the album forthcoming on Oscilla Sound. You just knew.
