Life began in spring, nature had finished its rotation and so the cycle started once again... The buds of the flowers began to peak their heads through and say hello while the cherry blossom sprouted overhead creating a soft pink canopy for the birds and the bees to play. The air was rife with the smell of freshly mown grass and sweet honeysuckle, there wasn't a more beautiful time of the year than this, watching the world coming alive...

Mind Dance started a few years ago as a space for label boss Furious Frank to share his own productions and musings from like-minded artists. The Aussie producer, known for outings on Kalahari Oyster Cult, Butter Sessions and Ken Oath, has so far released four of his own EPs, one a collaboration with DJ Dogg, and he's welcomed fellow pals from down under for a VA EP last year, including OK EG, Rings Around Saturn, Nice Girl and Current Obsession. For the next, which marks the first release of 2022, he's back on his business with Wavepool, a batch of four melodic, shuffling club cuts that come with a proggy remix from New Zealand remix wizard Eden Burns.

PREMIERE: Furious Frank - Blossom [Mind Dance]

Straight out from the enigmatic Oaxacan territories comes to Kyma Komplex, Iuan with ‘Rider & Let It Out, an immersive musical experience delves into the realm of electro and harnesses the indie force of a boyband with a two original, plus three remixes by Ulises Arrieta, Amunet & Armendariz.

The production journey for this EP was a meticulously crafted endeavor, marked by an extended timeline that yielded a more polished result. The tracks are imbued with personal focus, yet remain firmly anchored to the powerful beat that resonates on the dance floor. A canvas of personal introspection shaped by contemporary life frames the narrative, offering listeners a potent musical experience with the lyrical elements intertwine with themes of clarity, solitude, and the intricate facets of human personality.

The inspiration behind this EP finds its roots in a passion for musical diversity and the potent fusion of sounds and samples. The predominant genres of indie dance and electro seamlessly blend, elevating the experience to unparalleled heights, thanks in part to the contributions of our esteemed guest artists.

The opener is Rider, this track takes a narrative path, delving into the absence of identity and belonging, paving the way for a distinct personality to emerge. Let It Out, on the other hand, lies the concept of awakening, a profound exploration of consciousness, and the ongoing journey of learning, with all its trials and triumphs

The musical evolution of Iuan has seen a shift towards a more pronounced emphasis on lyrical depth and messaging. This EP allowed to explore a broader spectrum of sounds that resonated with the creative vision. This shift served as a moment of reflection, enabling to contemplate the musical legacy and the lasting impression he wish to leave behind.

Distinguishing itself from previous releases, this EP strategically hones in on basslines and vocals. The collaboration with LaTech seamlessly blends unique elements, nurturing a harmonious sonic symbiosis that stands out as a signature feature.

The atmosphere radiating from this EP captures a dual essence of euphoria and joy, underscored by vocals that delve into themes of awakening and the profound solitude we often encounter.

We envision our listeners connecting deeply with these songs, engaging in introspection about our life's journey and the legacy we wish to leave behind. 'Polaris welcome back Panthera to the label. Known for his relevant, moody melodies, the French producer has once again delivered a killer EP. On the remix duties, Damon Jee & Vhyce, both gives us a masterly reinterpretation of the song 'Vice'. 

The belgian maestro 'Vhyce' perfectly captures the essence of the original while bringing it into his own sonic universe with a driving acid bass line. Enjoy!'

This music At once the warmth of summer, yet the nostalgia of a past memory, makes us want to have a yogurt first thing in the morning, fruity, but without chunks. Chunks can surprise you from time to time, and that's not pleasant. Quite the opposite of this track, really: no surprises, just something pleasant and full of good vitamins (there are good vitamins in yogurts too, even the ones with sperm). A fan once said: "Perfect to listen to anytime; especially by the sea with a little sunset!" Thanks to him for the review.

Premiere: Balthasar Freitag – Hippo (Are:Age Remix) [Hardau Records]

Aurum Miles returns to Blindetonation with three more eccentric disco cuts backed with remixes by FLVN and Mijo. Miles hails from Lithuania and has grown up around shoegaze, rock and British indie, and was later touched by electronic sounds. A keys, drums and guitar player who mixes up all these influences with narcotic weirdness, he always cooks up magic on this label and does so again now.

The most playful of the lot is the fantastic ‘Be Free’ with tooting synth arps and filtered, dehumanised vocals. It’s a colourful cut that brims with future charm.
