Odysseus and his fleet try to sail through a divine storm, but end up harpooning the bottom of a flying island for safety.

Storm

Poseidon destroys most of Odysseus’s fleet as revenge for the cyclops, his son. Odysseus manages to pull a last second escape with the wind bag.

Ruthlessness

Odysseus and some of his crew enter a cave full of sheep in search of food for their fleet and encounter the one-eyed cyclops Polyphemus.

Polyphemus

Odysseus has an inner conflict and contemplates what makes a man a monster.

Just A Man

Sung by Odysseus' wife, Queen Penelope, who after over 20 years still hasn’t accepted another suitor despite the harassment and the public pressure she’s put through.

This song is a turning point in which she finally decides on a suitor through an intensely difficult challenge. The challenge is also another way of stalling as she still hopes that Odysseus returns.

The Challenge

After growing tired of attempting Penelope’s final challenge, the Suitors, led by Antinous, plot to kill Telemachus and finally seize the Queen and throne of Ithaca for themselves.
