Deciding to trade in his college baseball jersey and curveball for a Martin guitar and life on the road was a major turning point in Corey Cox’s life.  At just 20 years old, Corey made a decision to step outside of his traditional, comfortable, Indiana small town existence and throw everything he had at an unpredictable and precarious life as a music man. 

While on the road and splitting time between his home state of Indiana and Nashville, TN the past five years, Corey has shared the stage with Dierks Bentley, Darius Rucker, Justin Moore, Chase Rice, Thomas Rhett, Lee Price, Chris Young, Willie Nelson and many more. Continuing his rapid climb in the country music world in 2012, Corey performed for tens of thousands of fans in the Super Bowl XLVI Village, sang the National Anthem at the Brickyard 400 Nationwide Race, and secured a major sponsorship with Coors Banquet beer. Corey is also scheduled for his second appearance on County Cruising in 2015, joining some of country music’s biggest names for a 7-day Caribbean cruise. Corey has built his name through his relatable lyrics, contagious songs, and energetic live shows – a combination that has attracted a strong and loyal following.

In July of 2014, Corey released “Wake Up Drunk” to country radio, which was his first ever single that received national radio play, reaching 104 on the Music Row charts, and accumulating over 1,100 spins on 100+ stations. The music video has also been viewed on YouTube over 27,000 times, and is featured on www.CMT.com. 

Corey has spent the last couple of years writing alongside some of Nashville’s biggest and best songwriters. As his tour schedule remains consistently full, the rising star recently released his fourth album, Light It Up, which was produced by Thom Daugherty, who is the former guitar slinger for The Band Perry. Thom was also an original member of Indiana based, and nationally known rock band, The Elms.

"Light It Up" includes 6 tracks, all written or co-written by Corey himself, with evident influence of John Mellencamp and Bruce Springsteen. Corey says, “I wanted to create something different and honest. I spent a lot of my childhood not only listening to country music, but also rock & roll, and even pop, and I really wanted that to be evident on this album.”
