Nia Corjai, (born Adrienne Kern), is a multi-genre influenced, hip-hop artist from Atlanta, GA currently living in Los Angeles,CA. She is known for her laid-back, sexy voice and timeless, life-inspired lyrics over unorthodox music.

MY BEGINNINGS
At an early age I remember listening to R&B, Hip-Hop, and Jazz. Mom would be dancing in her room to oldies and dad in the kitchen cooking to jazz music. On a quest to find how to express my bottled emotions, I began writing at the age of 16. Without access to a computer, producers, nor a studio, I searched through my dad's jazz music collection and found rhythmic, bouncy melodies I felt inspired to write to. The first song I wrote to was a Roy Ayers song. I felt like I accomplished the impossible because my peers were rapping to popular mainstream hip-hop such as Outkast, Triple 6 Mafia, and Tupac Shakur. I was so excited to share my new, unique gift with others. They received me well, enough to build my confidence and start my journey in music.

PROFESSIONAL START
In 2001, I signed a production deal with Sputnic Productions, in Snellville,GA and worked with super-producer, Sputnic Erawoc.
In 2003, my first EP “SKy’s The Limit” was released. It was an international success, selling over 16,000 copies, and is still selling to date. I performed at many showcases and venues around Atlanta. An album was completed but never released.

WHERE AM I NOW?
Life took it's course and musically there seemed to be a road block. So I took a detour and decided to travel. I taught English in Nakhon Si Thammarat, Thailand for one year and loved it! My outlook on life definitely became less fenced.
Although I enjoyed it, I returned to the U.S. in April 2010. I felt as if music was an element that was missing in my life. I couldn't avoid it. There were signs all around me; people telling me I should write, strangers asking me if I was an artist, and old friends questioning if I still did music. 

I decided to revert back to how I started in music; shuffling through my music looking for that unique sound that inspired me to write. I recorded a couple of concept tracks and decided to put together a mix-tape, using original tracks from some of my favorite international producers and artists. 
Some of the artist/producers include but not limited to: Flying Lotus, Nicolay (Foreign Exchange), Trey Songz, and Gotan Project. 

WHAT DO I SEEK?
I would love to work great producers and continue making timeless music. Maybe one day, go on an international tour!

I am fortunate to be in a position where I don’t feel the industry’s pressure to conform to a more mainstream sound versus that of my own heart. I write songs for the love of it and not for the motivation of money.

I'm optimistic about what the future holds, free-spirited to flow with today, and determined to unveil my tomorrow. That's what I have to offer through my music. Hope you enjoy it...Spread the Love!
