I wrote this song years ago… but only now do I understand what it was really about. As a kid, I waited for Santa—listening for reindeer, watching the tree glow. But the man delivering my presents wasn’t flying through the sky… he was walking up our driveway in postal blue. I added a few new lines to honor the truth I finally see. This one’s for my dad—forever my Santa in disguise. Let the story unfold.

While going to the fair of Dingle,
One fine morning last July;
While going up the road before me,
A red haired girl and I chanced to spy.
I went up to her, says I "Young lady,
My donkey he will carry two;

Then he went off to find his brother,
