PREMIERE: Anatolian Weapons - Disintegration Theme (Sonidos Subterraneos)

Synth and drummy post-punk by two annoying people—not my quote—from, I don't know, Berlin? Yes, this bedroom project shows high aspirations of conceptual nihilism in a rudimentary collage way. The album title is a doozy—stoner humor. First you hear a helicopter, then a drumbeat, and a great use of spatial placement. The lyrics are about something too political and philosophical to expound upon here, but worth a listen.

"There was something truly special about the industrial music scene during the 80s and 90s in Canada. I was too young to experience it since I was born in the 90s. When I discovered these bands years later, it really blew my mind. You had legendary bands like Skinny Puppy and Front Line Assembly in Vancouver who spearheaded the movement. Both shared members at one point or another and had prolific discographies with their main bands and their numerous side projects (Noise Unit, Download and Cyberaktif, to list a few). The west coast seemed to be the central hub of the scene, with bands such as Numb, Unit:187, Decree and the early material of synthpop band Psyche. On the east coast, there was Digital Poodle, Decoded Feedback and DHI (death and horror inc) in Toronto along with Montreal's collaborative group Phycüs. This mix I assembled is merely a small snapshot of the diversity of the scene during that period. Pulsāvī  - Todo a binario(Piélago, EP31, 2020)

Sébastien plays soprano, tenor and C-melody saxophones. He got started with improvisation through workshops with musicians coming from contemporary jazz or improvised music.
Interested in perceptive phenomenons, he works mainly with sound as a material, describing himself as a “sound crafter”. His interests also extends to body and space, as he regularly confronts his practice to contemporary dance, soundart, through collaborations mainly with photographer Diane Martinot and music and technology, through the use of programming language Supercollider. Based in Leipzig, Germany since 2015, he is an active member of the blooming local scene.
