With his new record "Balearic Dreamdance", Maltitz returns you to a time when House music first spread it's wings. A 6 track record that channels the hedonistic spirit of the late 80s and early 90s, a sound that has soundtracked endless summers drifting between sun-drenched euphoria and a more hypnotic late-night mindset. This record is the artists sonic postcard of Mediterranean bliss.

"La Isla Selini" opens with playful charm, it's the carefree energy of a summer anthem reimagined through Maltitz’s uniquely sun-kissed lens. "Hot Summer 2023", co-produced with Selina, captures the hazy beauty of an afterhours in Ibiza. Strangely intimate warmth, dreamy focus and the lingering feeling of the first rays of light over the sea. Closing up the first half of the record "Valentines Island" drops into pure nostalgia, a 90s-style piano hymn built for timeless dancefloor moments you may or may not remember clearly.

On the flip side Maltitz works it a little deeper, "Marabu Beach" and "Café Saganaki" reveal the club-driven core of the record. These tracks weave dub techno textures and echoes of 90s techno into the Balearic mist. To close things out we have a remix from NY Stomp, a fitting addition to the record who's inspiration now spans the Atlantic, their remix of "Wax n Tax" folds classic House muscle into Maltitz’s palette, trading seaside sway for sidewalk strut.

Together, the tracks form a journey that feels both like a memory and a promise: the endless summer lives on.

Secretsundaze’s recently minted 9FINITY continues its stellar run of explorations into the outer regions of modern club music with an imprint debut from fast-rising talent Milès Borghese.

Borrowing elements from early Detroit techno, and Perlonized minimal, the ‘Antic Drive’ EP distills the German-born, Austria-based producer’s broad spectrum of influences into a highly functional, club-ready collection of tracks that perfectly fits the imprint’s modus operandi.

The A-side kicks off with ‘Do You Ever Fantasize’, a deep club tool built around the vocal sample of the title and punctuated by building drums, alien sonics at every turn, and a mean, highly danceable bassline to boot. The peak time worthy ‘Sustain’ follows an impressive opening, as an incessant mind-looping hypnotic groover aimed straight at the floor.

The EP’s title track ‘Antic Drive’ opens up the flip. Leaning on subtle textures and almost off kilter percussion, minimal broody deepness is the motive here. Borghese’s impressive first outing wraps up with ‘Mateo Does’, a driving rhythm-heavy track built for late nights and early mornings.

[PREMIERE] Do You Ever Fantasize - Milès Borghese | 9FINITY [2025]

Having previously released selected retrospectives focused on the musical output of Ryo Kawasaki and Joan Bibiloni, NuNorthern Soul has now turned its attention to the vast back catalogue of Jasper Van’t Hof’s pioneering electro-acoustic, Afro-fusion collective, ‘Pili Pili’. Best known to Balearic DJs and listeners for the epic title track from 1984 debut album ‘Pili Pili’ – a track reissued by NuNorthern Soul in 2024 with a fresh re-edit by label regulars Coyote – the European-African collective became world-renowned not just for the unique, cross-cultural sound of their songs and instrumentals, but also the dynamism of their freewheeling, partly improvised live performances.

The band was established in 1984 by Van’t Hof, a Dutch pianist who began his career in Europe’s jazz scene of the late 1960s, as a way of combining his love of jazz-fusion and the music of North-West Africa. Van’t Hof already had a reputation for combining roles in traditional jazz combos with more experimental and abstract projects. These included a spell in violinist Jean-Luc Ponty’s first band, years spent masterminding the jazz-rock outfit called Jasper Van’t Hof’s Porkpie, the recording of an all-electronic album (1982’s Visitors), and a celebrated collaborative live album with the great Archie Shepp, Mama Rose. ‘Pili Pili’, though, was another step forward for Van’t Hof. Working with percussionists and vocalists from Benin and Mali (including the now legendary Angelique Kidou) and a string of adventurous jazz soloists (saxophonist Tony Lakoto and trumpeter Annie Whitehead included), Van’t Hof’s collective frequently combined live and programmed percussion, electronic and acoustic instrumentation, and the talented improvisor’s own memorable melodies and impactful solos.

NuNorthern Soul’s retrospective focuses on the most productive and celebrated period of ‘Pili Pili’s near three-decade history, showcasing tracks originally recorded and released on studio albums released between 1984 and 2002. The six tracks on show offer an essential glimpse into the musical gold to be found across the ‘Pili Pili’ catalogue. It begins with the infectious energy and restless percussion of ‘Ile’, an Afro-fusion-meets-electro-rock masterpiece from the band’s 1984 debut, and ends with the ultra-deep bass, gentle acoustic guitars, colourful synths and melodious kalimba sounds of 2002’s ‘Soubatcha’. In between, you’ll find the synth-pop-infused, electric guitar-sporting joy of ‘Jakko Jakko’ (1987), the stripped-back and drum focused ‘Life Size’ (also 1987), the jaunty bliss of ‘Hippo Hips’ (1992), and the cowbell-powered Afro-jazz-fusion brilliance of 1985’s ‘My Gongoma’.

In keeping with NuNorthern Soul’s previous retrospectives, the vinyl version of ‘Selected Works 1984-2002’ comes with extended liner notes telling the remarkable story of this most unusual of cross-cultural collaborations. These feature extensive quotes, reflections and memories from Jasper Van’t Hof and were written by music historian Matt Anniss. Artwork by Chris Maude.

Opening a label’s first chapter is no light task, but Andy Somoza & Aka Juanjo step up with a statement cut: “Concentration,” the A1 on Circa91’s vinyl-only debut, sets the tone with confident restraint and a sonic identity rooted in the early ’90s without falling into pastiche. It’s a track that understands heritage, but moves forward with purpose.

Built around sturdy drum programming and a thick, sun-warmed bassline, “Concentration” immediately taps into the feel-good pulse of classic House - head-nod friendly, groove-driven, and shaped for rooms where bodies respond instinctively. The central synth line, unmistakably reminiscent of that era’s hypnotic leads, works like a hook and a memory trigger at once: familiar enough to comfort, but sharpened with contemporary clarity. Used with restraint, the vocal interjections of “concentration” accent the rhythm like flashes of light - memorable, functional, never intrusive.

What’s striking is the track’s discipline. Rather than chasing an explosive breakdown or overbuilding into drama, it lets the flow breathe: breaks arrive with intention, injecting movement and anticipation, but the energy always lands back into the pocket. The result is a slow-burner that locks dancers in, a groove that spreads rather than detonates - a proper first spark for what promises to be a promising series.

As the debut opener for Circa91 - a transatlantic collaboration between Toscal Records (Santa Cruz de Tenerife) and People Unpleaser (Santa Cruz de la Sierra) - “Concentration” acts as a handshake between scenes, aesthetics, and intentions. It’s also a fitting introduction from co-founder Andy Somoza, showcasing the ethos behind the new imprint: community-rooted, dancefloor-functional, and proudly vinyl-focused.

The first release on Man Power’s Me Me Me saw FACT mag travel to Mexico to get inside the head of the Geordieman in Mexico. Next up for the label is a comeback record from Last Waltz, the trio with which Man Power first ever released, featuring three new, original tracks, and a remix from the first ever recorded collaboration of Tel Aviv’s Red Axes (I’m A Cliche) & Naduve (Disco Halal).


Last Waltz are Lee Forster (Lizards) Mick Rolfe (The Great Curve) and Geoff Kirkwood (Man Power). Outside of their solo projects, Last Waltz have released on labels including Futureboogie, Endless Flight (Mule Musiq), Tusk Wax, Lets Play House, Is It Balearic, and many more. After a two year break from producing together, the three North East England born producers finally felt brave enough to suffer the inevitable studio fist fights and tantrums that have always occurred during their creative process. This latest session has resulted in potentially their most cohesive and impressive output to date, with an EP that swings between deep excursions, psychedelic disco and industrial electro, only to have Red Axes and Naduve take the track into an altogether more low-slung and feral direction.


Me Me Me is shaping up to be an imprint for crate diggers, blurring the boundaries of electronic music and forging new channels for the dancefloor. Future contributions are incoming from Axel Boman, Mike Simmonetti, Chida, Fort Romeau, Hammer, Rex The Dog, Daniel Maloso, Last Waltz, James Hadfield (as Elizabeth Collective) and of course Man Power.

Man Power has risen to prominence over the past few years through a beguiling versatility that is eminent in both his DJ and production style, leading to key releases on ESP Institute, John Talabot’s Hivern Discs, Permanant Vacaction and Throne of Blood. He currently holds residencies at the esteemed Topaz Deluxe in his new station of Monterrey and at the equally chic MN Roy of Mexico City and his critically acclaimed 2015 album on Jennifer Cardini’s Correspondant led to his title as one of XLR8R’s Artists of the Year.
