Emerging from the shadows, Hesperius Draco returns to Frigio with a solo release for the first time since his 2016 album Actus Tragicus. 
Directive V conjures up the magic of giallo horror, silver screen slashers and smoky synthlines, while exploring something altogether new. Tempered percussion and low bass-lines “introduce the 12” with “Lexploitation”. Cinematic influences percolate in the steady percussion and lonesome elation of “Memories of Sex Desire.” The mood changes on the flip with “Leaders In Space.” Guitar strings and breathy samples blend to create a leering late lounge track spiked 
with acid notes and vocoder bitterness. The finale brings something totally different. The gurgling acid line is amplified as Hesperius Draco unveils “Cyber Bondage.” Floor centric and machine steeped, stabbing synth-lines, rusted rhythms and an inchoate energy course through this finale to display yet another side of Alessandro Parisi’s sound.

The walls were closing in and the hazard siren was roaring loudly. Deep inside the factory she felt that the time was now, the time to resist and to fight with passion and power. The metallic shell of the building had been a home to misery and pain for far too long. Soon it would burst with glorious colour and radiant light as the fireworks blasted with a glistening bang. The fuse was lit and the countdown to infinity was well and truly on. Prepare to boom!

Ranging from palpitating ambience to chuggernaut technoid trips; the stirring 16 track set features late night creations from old friends (Red Axes, Zombies In Miami, Mike Simonetti, Moscoman) new friends (Simple Symmetry, Perel, Julian Stetter, ) and friends that have been Correspondant kindred spirits since day one, but have never had the opportunity to cast their magic on the label… Until now (Black Merlin, The Golden Filter, MR TC, Yula Kasp & Mi.ro).

Black Merlin - Sub Conscious

The Black Sea is currently the front line in a war. A war between humanity and inhumanity. In a world where millions are displaced by war and geopolitical disputes which are nothing to do with its inhabitants.  Millions of people are fleeing to EU countries in hope of a better life and while it's not for us to pin our political colours to a mast, we are first and foremost human, and have a responsibility to make sure our fellow humans are safe.
Lurid Music and Anatolian Weapons are making a stand, donating 100% of the proceeds of this EP to Humanity Crew, a charity which specializes in psychological support for displaced refugees fleeing the war ravaged regions from outside the EU.
Anatolian Weapons AKA Athenian resident Aggelos Baltas is currently on the up, with a track selected by Lena Willikens for her Dekmantel Selectors 05 Compilation as well as releases or remixes on Dream Weapons, Faint Object and more. 
Agglelos is keeping up the momentum with a release on Washington label, Lurid Music, a label which has released EPs and remixes from Khidja, Tim Fairplay, Rattler Proxy and Antoni Maiovvi throughout it's sporadic release schedule from the past few years. However, this one has been worth the wait.
Black Sea is slow mo Acid at it's finest with a warm analogue sounds permeating from every orifice of it's being.
Delayed cut up vocals add an atmosphere you would expect from any producer who calls the shores of the Aegean their home, whatever the crisis or crises it might face.

Sometimes you want something so badly you don't even know to ask for it in the first place. Like Adam and Eve stumbling upon the fruit of knowledge — or psychedelic techno wizards Donato Dozzy and Retina.it (aka Lino Monaco and Nicola Buono) producing a pitch-perfect, vintage-styled minimal wave record, filled with icy synths, shuddering bass, and anthemic vocals, sounding like a lost gem unearthed from 1982 for the first time.

Except it's not — this record is brand new. The three Italians first came together under the moniker Le Officine Di Efesto, releasing an EP of murky left-field techno on Dozzy's own Spazio Disponibile. They quickly discovered a shared love of classic post-punk, wave, and synthpop, and not long after, Men With Secrets was born.

"Men With Secrets" might sound like an old-school synthpop act you've never heard of, but the name is actually borrowed from Richard Bone, an early New York electronic musician and minimal pop pioneer. The trio's name is but one of their many homages — Cabaret Voltaire, The Human League, New Order, and even Dopplereffekt are additional reference points — but this album is neither imitation nor rehash. It's just as carefully and ingeniously produced as you'd expect a record from Donato Dozzy and Retina.it to be, except it's filled with poppy hooks so brilliantly catchy they'll stick in your head until you hit 'Repeat' and find yourself singing along.

These Men With Secrets clearly have their tongue placed firmly in cheek: check the record's title and artwork for proof. But the music is deadly serious. The drums hit hard, the synths soar to emotional heights, and the vocals intone rhythmically. All of it's coated in the warm fuzz of analogue tape. Not many records on The Bunker New York are as likely to be played in goth clubs as they are by adventurous techno DJs, but then again, this is not your average Bunker New York record.

Men With Secrets - "Cabaret (Démodé)"

Darting to the left down an alleyway, her heart skipped a beat as an uneven paving stone almost tripped her, but she managed to maintain her balance and regain focus as she headed for the busy street ahead. She was being chased but there was no danger, she knew exactly what she was doing. Her feet barely touched the ground as she weaved in between the drunk partygoers taking up the pavement. Snippets of nonsense conversations, indistinct shouts from across the street, and harsh artificial light from cars and shop fronts blurred into one disorienting multi-sensory experience, intensifying her escape tenfold.

Next up on Berlin-based label Malka Tuti is a remix package of Hamburg duo Shari Vari. As an appendix to their debut LP 'NOW', friends of the label have reinterpreted a selection of songs from the release, reconditioning them for the dance floor. Black Merlin’s version of ‘Dance Alone’ amplifies its dark atmosphere, introducing a repetitive tumbling bass line alongside otherworldly synth sounds and chopped and twisted vocal snippets.
