Like the morning sun penetrating a Winter sky, a shimmering frost flecks the brightness of “Message to Nowhere”. The four tracker showcases the sound of Ruben Benabou’s Hyperstellar nom de plume, a sound that draws inspiration from sci-fi soundtracks and the warmer currents of electro. Refracted bleeps introduce the title piece, shorn beats cutting through glowing synthlines as the EP takes flight. Tight terse drum patterns are the launchpad from which melodies sail and swoop in “Words in a Void”, bittersweet strings and warbling pads bending and shifting above juddering basslines. Fellow Frenchman, and all-round electro virtuoso, The Hacker remixes “Message to Nowhere”. Pulling the track toward the centre of the floor, scissoring snares slice through echoing notes and silken shrouds in this machine funk remake. Temperatures rise for the close. Bold key changes and snapping rhythms gather in “A Thousand Nights”, a lively late evening close to a quartet of sheer quality.

From Sweden with Italo to Dresden with love. Stockholm's DJ City drops his first release on Dresden's Uncanny Valley with the COSMICOMICS EP, a 100% fun record
for all the senses, deeply inspired by Italo Calvino's iconic short story collection.

COSMICOMICS borrows its name from a collection of short stories written by Italian author Italo Calvino, first published in Italian in 1965. The stories have inspired DJ City to a recordthat aesthetically draws from 80s Italo Disco and 70s science fiction films. In the book, each
story is based on a scientific fact about the world and the cosmos whilst using fiction to askhow we understand it. Where Calvino's stories are comical and absurd, DJ City surrenders to the sublime and romantic and moves further into the metaphysical world that Calvino created
to come up with three energetic and melodic tracks bursting heavily with fantasy and drama.

Deeply rooted in dance music’s history, they shine with Hi-NRG-vibes, strict dancefloor commitment and little easter eggs like that Drexciya-reference in COSMICOMICS.

The cover of the record is a painting from 2020 by Swedish artist Jens Fänge called THE INN. We see a man in front of the entrance to a Mediterranean-style building and a woman in a window on the upper floor. The picture seems to have been broken up into several dimensions, and abstract details make it difficult for the viewer to know exactly what and when the scene is taking place. When shown in Shanghai, the painting was censored by
government agents and had to be taken down. A testament to the power of the image.

Perhaps it shows our main character, perhaps it shows us the author or the artist. Depending on who listens, who reads and who looks, a multitude of universes open.

Correspondant is happy to present Feel the force, by ROTCIV. Brazil-born and Berlin-based, ROTCIV has been active on the rave scene since the 90s, and started releasing music under this moniker in 2005. Focusing on acid, house, disco and electro through his label Mister Mistery, he has crafted a unique blend of 80s and 90s influences reworked with a contemporary sound. With Feel the force, ROTCIV offers a snapshot into his dancefloor-oriented sonic universe. “Feel the Force” opens the project as a retro futuristic explosive blend of Italo-disco, acid, EBM, and proto-trance elements. Following is "Spread Acid", an uplifting track that embodies the energetic spirit of early 90s Italian and prog-house references, featuring 909 snare drum rolls, 303 acid lines, sweeping delay effects, and piano riffs. The third track, "Nightmare," takes a darker turn, merging dramatic synths, arpeggiated basses, and haunting vocal samples inspired by 80s sci-fi movies. Finally, "Club A Go-Goa," as the name suggests, takes a clubby approach to the classic goa trance sound, delivering a unique taste of psychedelic synths and hypnotic beats. Feel the force is a mighty four tracker, designed to ignite any crowd.

Set for release on November 29th, The Loving EP sees Romain FX and Michael Cignarale deliver three powerful, groove-laden tracks on Cormac’s Polari label. This captivating release embodies both artists’ flair for creating unforgettable dancefloor moments, packed with intensity, and sensuality.

The journey begins with ‘Mallet Ballet‘, where Romain FX’s refined production shines through. With percussive rhythms and anthem-like vocals it is a timeless cut in the making, Mallet Ballet promises to be an instant classic.

Next up, ‘Cum Together‘—a collaboration between Romain FX and Michael Cignarale—provides an electrifying experience. This track exudes a slow-burning lusciousness, guided by Cignarale’s haunting vocal delivery. Running for a full eight minutes, Cum Together builds layer upon layer of atmosphere, evoking the golden age of dance music while pushing it forward.

40 Thieves are back on Roam Recordings, teaming up with vocalist Alona to release their latest cosmic disco gem, 'Shake You Off'. Fans of the trio (Layne Fox, Corey Black, and Jay Williams) might recognize them from the dancefloor classic 'Don't Turn it Off (I Think I Like It)', their eclectic album 'The Sky is Yours', or their previous Roam hit 'Take Me I'm Yours'.

This new single delivers a dancefloor-ready track featuring Alona's vocals layered over lush electronic melodies.

The release also features two standout remixes from Roam Recordings alumni Shubostar and label boss Jason Peters. Shubostar kicks things off, maintaining the warm, inviting vibe while introducing a dash of Italo disco flair. Label founder Jason Peters takes a different approach, stripping down the original to create a deep, pulsating, heavy version. Rounding out the release are an instrumental and radio-friendly edit of the original track.

This project has strong San Francisco roots, and we couldn't be more excited to collaborate with our Bay Area family on this release. But beyond our personal ties, we truly believe this record is something special.
