This is a home-recording of an impromptu set of records i’ve been playing in the club for the past year. Disclaimer: Do not listen to this if you are planning on going to bed early! I am taking you on a journey through some original sound-designs of rave-culture, some revival-stuff going through the bpm. This is perfect for a below 100 pax homeparty and you will barely be able to sit still. Thanks to my friends Farr for the mastering and Andrea Ida for the artwork.

S.Tonkin is back to make her own individual mark on the BTRMIX series. Previously, as part of current (but formally named) duo, Ruins (see: BTRMIX009) Sarah is back with an even heavier mix of left-field techno bangers. 

Since last mix Sarah has cemented herself into Sydney's radio scene, producing Body Promise on FBi Radio, and presenting her own Construct show with partner in crime Askham.

With an eclectic taste of music rivaling the greats, S.Tonkin has brought over an hour of elastic percussion-locked grooves, merging her love of UK bass, techno and bass music. Keep an eye out from some new original productions coming soon from @askham-stonkin, we've gotten a cheeky taste already and we're very excited for everyone else to hear what they've been cooking up!

"This mix captures my love for a wide and increasingly undefinable variety of sounds that fall under the umbrella of drum and bass.
D&B has soundtracked some of my happiest memories; from my first experiences of being at a rave, sneaking into Herbal with our passport photocopies, to Jungle Jams in Leeds and nights at Rupture more recently. Now as I make steps into production I find myself leaning towards 170 bpm. 

I realised after recording this mix that there are no womxn producers featured. Moving forward, this will be front of mind always, not only as this is one means to work towards a healthier social balance across the music scene, but because the best outcomes are reached when diversity of input is respected. Whilst it's undeniable that there are a small number of womxn producers out there who are making music infused with the old school jungle flavours I love - huge respect to Mantra, Yorobi, Sweetpea, Djinn, Decibella, Charla Green & Fauzia - I understand if you look hard enough for great music from underrepresented talent, it can be found.
