Songwriting group week 10. Phrase we had to use this week: "Lousiana lightning." I've been reading a lot of Cormac McCarthy lately so this is semi inspired by the southern gothic tone and quality of his writing. It's sort of an open narrative about a man avenging the death of what might be his father. I guess it could really just be a guy who messed up and is on the run though. Thanks so much for listening. 

Dust and ashes
These borrowed clothes
Red sun hanging there alone
My father’s pistol
Emptied once
The thin white line of war and lust
