Consequence Of Society Recordings was founded by Cristoph in 2022 as an outlet for self-releasing music. Initially a home for his productions, it has become a respected platform for emerging and established artists committed to forward-thinking electronic music.
At its core, the label is rooted in melodic house. Its sound has naturally expanded over time. Today, Consequence Of Society spans a wide spectrum across house and techno. Releases range from deep, hypnotic, and melodic records to driving, peak-time club tools. The ethos is simple and instinctive: if Cristoph is playing it, enjoying it, and connecting with it on the dancefloor, there’s a strong chance it belongs on the label. The result is music that works across different DJs, rooms, and set times. Yet, it never loses its identity.
Since its launch, Consequence Of Society Recordings has steadily built a catalogue. The label balances Cristoph’s releases with curated work from new voices and trusted peers. Compilations and singles alike reflect its commitment to nurturing talent, and a consistent artistic thread runs throughout, favoring quality, depth, and longevity over trends.
A lesser-known but defining detail sits at the heart of the label’s identity. Consequence of Society is a direct reflection of the environment Cristoph grew up in, the culture, music, and experiences that shaped his taste, his sound, and the events he was drawn to. In that sense, the label represents the musical outcome of that upbringing: the consequence of that society. There’s also a more personal layer hidden in plain sight. Shortened to COS, the name doubles as a nod to Cristoph’s long-standing nickname, “Cossy,” which is derived from his surname, Costigan, a name many close friends and collaborators still use today. What started as a deeply personal concept has become a shared creative space.
