A short song about reminiscing; a time when I wrote my first tune.  Except, this song is reminiscing about itself. Or rather, it's how I'll feel looking back years later when I listen to this very first song I ever made.

I've wanted to learn how to make music for quite a while now. But the one thing stopped me was that I kept telling myself I'm too impatient for it. And of course, with that attitude, I most certainly was. I ended up buying a midi back in 2020 to try and learn the basics of piano. I tried learning music theory right off the bat, which was a bad idea. I got discouraged pretty quickly and dropped it. Fast forward to 2022 and I've gotten inspired by talking with an artist creating a song and going over the process with me.

At that time, I really didn't know what to do. I tried watching as many youtube videos as I could but I didn't have a clear path. So I signed up for some piano lessons. I ended up only going to four, as that's all I really felt I needed. Within those four lessons, I had a path laid out for me. I needed to learn the scales first, then chords. We had moved onto time signature when I took my last class. After that it would have been reading/writing which I wasn't really interested in. (maybe one day though)

It was the third week I was practicing and I stumbled across the first part of the song. Essentially I was just mashing keys hoping something sounded good, and somehow it did. In the next few days, I had ideas pop in my head for the later parts of the song (all of which came when I couldn't get my ideas out in the DAW of course).

I then got to a point where I didn't really know what else to add. So I focused on trying to mix it better. I know it's still not perfect, but it was a lot worse at first. I may revisit this song a little later when I've learned more. For now, I think it's complete enough. The real struggle is where to go from here...
